Heel straps not as big of an issue as previously thought
I am very happy I made this purchase. I had my other pair of Newport keens for almost ten years before they fell apart. I was hesitant to buy due to the reviews about blisters, but I wear my keens about 90% of the time without straps so I really excited about this style. They are prefect. I took them on a two week beach vacation with hiking and they were perfect for both. I received them two weeks before vacation and wore them around the house for a breaking time if needed, but they did not need to be broken in. As long as the heel straps are not very tight (able to slip them on and off with out adjusting or taking off straps , like original Newport) they are very comfortable to wear while hiking, even wet. I tightened the heel straps for the downward part of our hike and felt chafing, so I loosed them again and just tightened the toe/ foot area and no blisters. As long as you don’t care about the velcro being lined up perfectly you should not have any issues. I look forward to another ten years in these keens.

Looking for do-it-all shoes, but..
I thought the removable heel strap would make these Keens easy off and on in airports, nice homes, Asian countries, swimming pools, etc., as well as being good with the heel strap for kayaking and serious walking. Unfortunately the shoes were not that comfortable. The straps felt hard, but I assume they would ease up with use. The thing I couldn't get over was the footbed, which felt narrow. My fault, I suppose, for wearing wide sneakers during the pandemic years and letting my feet spread. I could have ordered the equivalent Keens men's size to get a wider footbed, but I liked the appearance of the women's ones with fewer straps. Ah well. I ended up returning them.

Exactly what you’ve come to expect from Keen
I am not sure if the design is improved from previous reviews or not, but there are two layers of velcro on the back strap to allow it to be extremely, easily adjustable and easily removable. For me there is simply no break-in period on Keen shoes. I have a pair of hiking boots that still look new after nearly a decade of use and hundreds of hiked miles, and this shoe has similar support, traction, and toe box. My shoe size is a 7.5 wide in many other shoes but for Keen I am an 8 medium. I have power walked in these already, and I have only had them a few days. Great shoes. Worth every penny.

What Happened??? Changed dramatically…
These are Horrible! Feels like ur wearing plastic instead of the awesome buttery comfort of their past (Venice)sandals! They are way small! I wear an 8.5, what I got was labeled as such but was an inch shorter than old ones. Had to go to 9.5 and even then they are snug and much thinner. So much for the nice roomie toe box…I’ll be buying from different company from now on UNLESS KEEN BRINGS THE AWESOME LEATHER VENICE SANDAL BACK!!! I’m pretty sure keens CEO lost their mind or sold out cuz these are NOT the good ol Keens of many many years. Btw the strap is a torture device! AND these things were NOT cheap!!! SOMEONE BRING KEENS BACK TO THEIR SENSES!!!!!!!!! Please?!

Inconsistent sizing. likely new batch is narrower
[Update June 2024]I reached out to KEEN customer service. Its representative said that the design wasn't altered, this was a fluke, and told me that I should order the same size again.Guess what? She was wrong.Sandals from the new batch are consistently smaller and narrower.If you don't have skinny feet, then size up and hope the Sandals are not too long, or get the Men's variant if it's available in your size.[The original review]This is my 2nd pair.One year ago I got my 1st pair of the Ravine H2, and they became my favorite sandals ever.In the last year I probably ordered something like a dozen of different pair of sandals, and didn't like them a bit, except for the Ravine H2.Summer came again, so I figured I'll get another Ravine H2, and to my surprised they didn't fit as comfortable.I had to measure to be sure, but now I am. They are a bit shorter, and a bit narrower. The difference in length likely only affeting the toe box, and I wouldn't mind the change if it wasn't also narrower.Those with slim feet won't mind, but others like me might.
