Another fantastic pair of Keens
I didn't even know about Keens a couple of years ago and now I don't want to wear anything else.I have had a long and awful list of foot and toe problems and these Keen's while not curing my badly healed injuries is making it possible for me to walk around comfortably.Here are my favorite features of Keen footwear;1. Narrower heels - I don't think my heels are abnormally narrow but I have too often ended up with shoes that I have to lace tighter and tighter to keep my heel from sliding up and down while walking. No more heel blisters for me.2. Sturdy laces and lace holes - I don't know if the technical term is lace holes, I really hope it isn't, but I'm referring to the openings that you thread shoelaces into and that I like how strong they are on these shoes. I have never worried that I am wearing away at the laces or the shoe by tightening my shoelace tying.3. Cushiony foot bed - I need something firm but with a little bouncy give. These are perfect. I am not having as much plantar fascitis pain in my heels and I am also able to take my shoes off without having a tickling muscle spasm on doing so.4. They are not as warm as my old skechers or sneakers and they have more breathability than my docs. My socks are still moist by the end of the day but not nearly as much inter toe sweat is happening.5. Plenty of room for my messed up toe. I never feel it bumping the top of the shoe as I walk.6. They still feel comfortable after a day of walking around.7. Pretty good arch support, I think in a few months I might buy some arch supports to insert but on the good side, these are roomy enough that I expect the arch supports will only add to the comfort of the shoe instead of making them too tight and uncomfortable to wear.

So I have a problem. When you weigh 100 lbs one can wear children's shoes. But once you hit your 40's like me, and female, your weight skyrockets. At124 lbs I can no longer wear children's shoes because children's shoes are not designed to take on that much weight. (I do wonder about the increase of kids becoming overweight????) I write about my weight for one reason. I did try on keen's children's shoes. I thought they were TERRIBLE. Almost giving up 50 pairs of shoes later, I did resort to Keen's adult shoes. I didn't want to because of the price difference. I am so accustomed to buying children shoes. Anyways.Women shoes - They fit awesome, and they are very sturdy.Actually, to be honest I wore the kids size first at the gym. I told a friend at the gym. She said Keen is a VERY GOOD brand. I am like, "Oh, because my keen shoes are not fitting at all?????So, I had to take into consideration the weight difference. I'm no longer 20 years of age lifting like a powerlifter. I am now 42 acting like an old granny with a large stomach at the gym.Once I switched over to a woman's size, I saw the difference. In store does not carry my size. Lots of online stores do carry my size. So, if the Internet should disappear 100%, I will be at a loss for my size now that I am heavier, and it appears I am stuck at my weight due to age.Yes, I agree now, Keen is a very good brand. Nice colors too.And thank you Keen for having my size! Thank you for not excluding my size.

I have the men's version of this shoe. Once my wife saw them she wanted her own pair. So we got her these. The toe box is super wide which is nice for her due to some complications with her feet. This makes it comfy for but I am not sure it would be for everyone. The grip on the tread is great, they are Breathable yet they are water resistant. They are easy to put on thanks to the wide opening design and rhey tie up nice and firm. Only down fall I see is the way the tounge folds in can make the top of your foot a bit uncomfortable sometimes while they wear in.

Great hiking shoe
This is my second pair of Keens. If you know the brand, they are true to form. These Targhee Vents are a replacement for, and comparable to, the Merrell Moabs I've been wearing for years. I loved the Merrells, but the most recent version of the Moabs were just a bit narrow for me, even half-sized up. Nonetheless I wore them completely out, but when I needed to replace them, I decided to try the Keens because of their wider toe box. I'm so glad I did! These were a perfect fit in my usual size 7, and the extra width gives my foot plenty of room to spread while still being supported by the insole and cushioned heel. I've worn them hiking straight out of the box: no break-in, no blistering. They're well made and not nearly as heavy as some Keen styles are. These will be my go-to hikers this summer, and with ample room for thicker socks, will be great in colder weather, too. Very happy with these shoes. Highly recommend.

Quality is slipping with Keen
* Update at the end*I have been a fan of Keen shoes for a decade. I have seen the quality sadly go downhill with the last 2 opposite I've gotten. This particular pair I've had for 5 months and I wear them about 3 or 4 times a week at work. The rubber that goes up onto the sides is peeling off. The last pair I had with the"ribbon" that hold the to of your laces. That ribbon broke about 8 months in. My previous 2 pair before that lasted well over 3 year of heavy wear! I don't know what is going on, but I'm really disappointed. They fit well and have arch support that fits me perfectly, and the toe cap is perfect for my job where I have to get on and off the floor frequently. I hope my next pair is better, otherwise I might have to break up with Keen.*Update* I contacted Keen directly and with some photos and info about my purchase, they have me credit to get a replacement pair of shoes from their website. I'm really happy that their customer support was understanding and quick to help out. I got a different style for the replacement so hopefully won't run into the same issue.
