Worth Every Penny
Update July2025: these boots are going on over seven years and they get better and softer with every walk. This is an amazing boot. I have both the insulated version and the non-insulated version for the different seasons . I live on acreage that is very rocky, full of the basalt, full of undergrowth, and tree saplings. These are hunting/hiking boots, but I use them now as my work boots to clean out the land. This Boot is exceptional. I have been a danner fan for years, have mutiple danner boots, and was unsure about Kenetrek, as I’d not heard of them before. I wanted to try this because I liked the look and insulation. Turns out that this boot is in a league of its own. Almost soft but incredibly sturdy exterior. The fit is like nothing I’ve found in another manufacturer. It just hugs my feet in all the right ways. Tread design and feel is exceptional. I live in an area that is very rocky, and it can get slick. This boot feels extremely secure. At the same time, it is not too heavy to walk for some distance. And It has no “bulky” or square feel to it at all in spite of its sturdiness. Warmth is just right. Just a beautifully designed well fitting boot that has become a favorite. I love my Danners, and I’m now totally sold on Kenetrek.

Didn’t keep feet warm
I purchased these after watching reviews thought they were the best on the market paid a ton of money for them went hunting wearing two pairs of socks, and my toes were freezing. They did fit perfect true to size as far as walking in snow they did very well. Are well-made would recommend wearing with heated socks. Price paid $559.87 price is too much when they don’t keep your feet warm.

Best winter mountain boot money can buy
If you live in a cold, mountainous climate and need the best all around winter boot money can buy, these are your boots. Comfortable but supportive, waterproof yet breathable, rugged, well-made, stylish - been using them 3 months in a Maine winter living off grid in the mountains and I will be hard pressed to ever consider another boot. My feet never sweat, or get cold, and they have excellent traction. JUST SPEND THE DAMN MONEY they are worth it.

Not Too Tight on wide feet
Definitely feel like high quality. Fit great for width. Once I added kenetrek shoe inserts it took up some room. The kenetrek ortho took up quite a bit of space and made my toes feel a little cramped, but the other comfort insole was ok. I tend to like high arch insoles, but these took up too much toe space. There is a little heel slip. I have to heel lock the laces. This is where I feel some pressure points in the boot, hoping to lessen with breakin. They are stiff and take a lot of time to break in. They are sturdy, but I feel more stable in my 5.11 boot. It has more maneuverability than the kenetrek at this point. Hoping this will change with break in.

Warmest boot and breaking time only a few days
These are the warmest boots I’ve had. I have bad feet, so the break in time was great for me. They are expensive but worth every single dollar. Order one size bigger than your normal size. I first ordered an eight and then had to order a bigger size. The return was a breeze. It’s a wonderful hunting boot and great for hiking. I used them this deer season and walked a lot and my feet were never tired. Don’t hesitate to order.

Exactly what I was looknig for -a winter hiking boot that will last... also 1 year warranty
I bought these because apparently I like destroying winter boots each year. I need something that will last and hold up to all the abuse caused by my winter hobbies. The hardware for these boots is awesome. The metal shoelace eyelets swivel and look like they will hold up nicely. I traded out the laces for personal preferences but the laces that came with them are just fine. Right out of the box these boots are stiff and definitely need to be broken in before undertaking any serious hiking, but I expected that. This is my first pair of Kenetrek boots and my initial impression is that these will last more than a few winters. In past winters with other brands of winter hiking boots - I only have been able to get about 18 months max, from date of purchase, to when some part of the boot fails. I will update this review if this boot fails me, but so far it looks like these Kenetreks are built to last several winters. So far I'm impressed.
