First pair: Screwy; Second pair: Terrific!
Well, this sucks! I had coveted this pair for some time, and finally, with the price as they were, I took the chance. I had read other reviews about how a screw in one of the boots would protrude slightly out into one's heel, resulting in a painful walking experience, but not finding any rhythm and pattern to the defection, I believed that such a craft error would not occur on mine. And sure enough, I first tried them there was nothing but sheer blissful comfort. And then I felt it, in the left boot; a very pronounced rise piercing into my heel. Heartbroken, I am, for I have already initiated for the return of these. Apart from packaging crinkling, these looked terrific, were a good fit, nice milk chocolate color, well priced, and the right boot alone merits the three stars for not having a protruding screw in the heel. What a shame.Update: The seller graciously sent me a replacement, and so far these are MILES better by every metric. I don't feel a screw in the heel, and these are even prettier-looking with fewer creases. They even arrived sooner than the original order. Some specs: the block heel is just over 3 inches (8cm)--including platform, the shaft is about 15 and half inches, the faux leather is pretty flimsy but is very smooth and flexible, and without the screw protrusion, MY GOD, these are like walking on forest floor moss! Very happy I took them up on their replacement offer! So, for these boots, the likelihood of a piercing screw in the heel is completely up to chance (50/50), but the return policy is favorable, so if this review give you pause, just buy them and cross fingers. Five stars now!
