Inexpensive, comfortable hiking shoe
so I'm not a hiker, but i was visiting a friend in the northwoods and realizing I didn't have any shoes suitable for even a short nature hike and ordered these. I usually wear a 6.5-7; a 36 in Dansko and a 37 in Ecco and ordered the size 6 based on the recommendations/reviews. The shoes do run 1 to 1.5 sizes too big and they are very wide. My feet are slightly wide so I was happy with the fit - and moreso when I realized that a pair of additional insoles were included (I removed the molded insoles, added the extra ones and replaced the molded insoles over top of the extras) - which worked well for me even with thick socks. (You could easily remove the provided insoles and include your own orthotics.) The shoes are incredibly light weight so great for travelling, and were warmer than expected. Got quite a bit of unexpected snow and went for a nature walk in 3-4" of snow and my feet not only stayed warm but also dry! the traction was impressive on wet slimy ground, on wet sand, on unpacked snow and on slippery paved surfaces. Shoes are incredibly comfortable and look like a blocky running shoe. I have a fairly high arch and felt very supported - also appreciate the substantial padding around the collar and tongue. I wore them for nearly 8 hours tramping through 3 airports on the first wear - no blisters. Very happy with the value of these shoes and am looking forward to wearing them on snowy sidewalks this winter!

Comfy but fits like a cleat
If you ever ran track and owned a pair of spikes you know exactly what I’m talking about. The show is low in the back and arched up near the toe box like track spikes. You won’t notice it until you try them on. They are also narrow in the toe area so if you have wide feet this will be tight. I read reviews where they said to size 1 up but I already wear a 9 and a 10 would be too big. They don’t have half sizes, which sucks, because my big toe is at the end of the shoe. I have a little room but I normally like at least a 1/2 inch of wiggle room. If you buy these, get YOUR SIZE or larger. Still, they are comfy and I stretched mine out by wearing them around the house with thick socks. They have memory foam in them but your foot sinks straight through it. You will need inserts or will feel every rock you step over. They are very light weight and nice sneakers. I’ll probably have a part 2 on this review after my walk on our nature trail Monday.Pt. 2 After Nature Trail walk -18OCT22So I did a little over 3 miles through one of our local nature trails. The terrain is hilly at some points, a lot of uneven terrain, small-embedded tree branches to cross over, hard gravel at parts but mostly a hard dirt trail. Not even 1 minute in I was grateful I changed the insoles. Still, I felt gravel as I crossed it but not so bad. This is a light weight shoe so if you’re looking for support look elsewhere. My feet didn’t flop around but I did select my right size. These shoes DO have GREAT grip! I didn’t slide uphill on a gravel trail nor slide around in the sand which is why I bought them. These shoes are comfy with the right insoles. I fight with planter fasciitis so my insoles are prescribed by my doctor. From someone that fights foot pain, I didn’t have a problem at all after walking a few miles in these shoes. Again, you DO need inserts!

Best affordable hiking shoes I’ve ever had
So comfortable that I sometimes wear them as tennis shoes. Great grip. Lightweight. Doesn’t dig into my heel like my last pair.

Turns socks and feet black.
Shoes were comfortable and very slip resistant but they turned my socks and feet completely black.

Need Hikers? These did not disappoint!
WOW! I'm so impressed with these hikers. I purchased them to hike Acadia National Park. I am not a routine hiker, but I knew I needed something with better tread for the terrain. These did not disappoint. We did moderate hikes (rocky, gravel, and sandy), and I never felt like slipping. They did not rub or cause any blisters and I admit to only wearing them for a few hours before entering the park.I have now worn them to the gym and used them when wandering my neighborhood with my dog. They did get wet/ rained on, still look great! They fit true to size.
