Very Functional and Comfortable Fall & Winter Boots.
Disclosure: I work for Korkers as a contractor and got these for free. So take this review as you will.I was excited to get a pair of these because I don't have a good daily-driver set of boots for winter. The only ones I have are a pair of hiking boots with laces that take too long to put on and off throughout the day. Gotta take the trash out in the snow/rain, I guess I have to lace up my hiking boots again. I got these just in time for fall in Minnesota and have been using them almost every day to really see how they perform, and so far GREAT!Fit: The neoprene rubber upper is a lot softer than I thought it would be. But that also means that it conforms to the foot nicely. Feels like a glove in a way. There are no hard edges or pressure in certain areas after breaking them in for a few days (1st two days the top of my foot felt a little squished). They claim that the insole/midsole is soft, which it is but not exceedingly so. I feel supported, and you can feel the softness on impacts on concrete floors. They feel smooth, in softness and flex. It doesn't feel like you are wearing a think soles boot that only bends in one spot, this is comfortable.Warmth: These are warm. With a good pair of socks I bet these will be my everyday boots all winter long, especially because they are so easy to get on and off. They are warm without the bulk. My one qualm here is that they don't breathe super well, since it's a waterproof rubber coating. Leaving them to airdry between uses will probably be key.Waterproof: So far so good here. I love having waterproof boots, I got to splash in puddles with my niece on a rainy day which was so fun. I went on a muddy hike and these did awesome through the squishy mud. Once snow starts coming down this will be really nice too. There's a video of a local creek and squishing in the mud attached.Performance & Stability: I wore these to a lot of things the last couple weeks. A rainy walk, forest trail hike, construction project, woodworking, to social events like trivia and friendsgiving, while bike riding in the snow. Overall it performed in every place except for the construction site. There is a heel counter that stabilizes the heel a little bit, but it doesn't give you the ankle stability of a work boot or steel toe protection. The sole is nice and grippy on hard surfaces (not great on wet leaves though) so I picked these for my snowy bike ride because they would stick to the pedals better. And they did! On a boat, which these are designed for these would work so well.Ease of use: Getting these on and off is a winning feature here. To get them on you do need a hand to pull the back tab to slide your foot in, but it's fast. And you can easily get them off with no hands. For me this is crucial as they are my daily drivers and I'm always carrying something in or out of the house. No laces. Just a fast glove fit.Look: I really like the look of these. They have some converse vibes with the rubber white part which I like. The blue is a beautiful color, and looks great with a lot of my clothing. its a minimal look and not too bulky, I feel like I can wear these in any sort of social situation.
