Order a 1/2 size larger, really!
Great pair of shoes. They have good cushion (not spongy soft) but also have great support, stability, and breathable. It is classified as a hiking shoe. It is more like a very heavy duty trail runner, very light hiker. I would definitely recommend ordering a 1/2 size higher. I normally wear a 12 US (45 EU) in most shoes. It was recommend to get 1/2 size up, so I ordered a 12 1/2 (46 EU) I am glad I did. One very small downside, the shoe strings could be a little longer.

Very narrow
I knew these shoes would run narrow but I hoped buying a half size larger would work, but it did not. They were too long in the toe and still too narrow so I returned them. They seemed co.fortablr and durable though, so disappointing.

Finally the Akyra's are back - upgraded!
My favorite shoes ever were the original La Sportiva Akyra's. When they discontinued I bought 4 different pairs! As soon as I saw these Akyra 2's I ordered them. Now, after having worn them for a few days, on several hikes, I can confirm they are just as comfortable and stable as the originals, with some really good looking designs too.

Light is right - not at all heavy duty, even for hiking
The answer is in the name 'Light Hiker and Trail Running'. It is light , also lightly made and just feels kind of cheap compared to the other La Sportive hiking shoe I had before. My main goal is a good, wide walking/hiking shoe. Size wise - it's a bit too narrow for wide feet ( despite descriptions of it being good for wider feet) - but not bad. I just can't get over the short tongue, the light fabric feel, and ( as in every shoe I have ever bought for walking) - the need for post market shoe beds.

Great shoes. I'm using them in technical hiking, lots of rocks. No issues with shoe width. I kept reading about La Sportiva brand being narrow, these are normal width shoes. Fits my feet like other brands. Great grip. I did need to order a half size up from my normal shoe size to get my correct fit.
