I have wide feet, and these shoes fit very comfortably with no tight spots. So far, I’ve hiked about 10 miles on rocky Smoky Mountain trails, and they feel much lighter than my previous pair. The grip on the trails is noticeably better, which has really improved my confidence on uneven terrain. The overall quality is comparable to other top brands, although I did notice a few minor glue imperfections.
La Sportiva claims it's a wide fit. As soon as I received them, I tried them on. They were rather tight. As a hiker, I know you have to break your shoes in. I wore them around the house for two weeks. Then I wore them out on the trails for another three weeks. I hiked any where between 3 to 8 miles per hike. They still are snug. My size 9.5 Hokas are the same size and wide, and are more comfortable. The Hokas Speedgoats are well worn and needed to be replaced after 2-1/2 years. I looked at Merrills and LaSportivas, both Gore-tex. Merrill did not have a wide fit so I went with the Bushido III wide GTX. Now the return date expired and I'm stuck with a tight pair of shoes.
