awesome boots worth every penny

Just bought these for tree climbing. Have a pair of regular Glaciers that are a half size too small, but I still wear them all the time. Tough boots that wear great. Replacing a brand new pair of overpriced Whites that started to fall apart after one hour in the spurs. Heel started coming apart and the fit was sub par. So I bought the WLF because they are true to size, (for me) stiff enough for my spurs,( great arch support) will hopefully wear like my other La Sportivas and were two hundred bucks cheaper than the Whites. Also the WLF is slightly taller than the older Glacier witch is a plus for climbing. They are a little warm in the summer time but so comfy and supportive that its worth it to me. I have a slightly narrow foot in the arch and ankle area that seems to fit well in these boots. No problem with heel lift. They flex well at the ankle. Hard to notice any big differences in fit between the Glacier and the WLF, even with the half size difference. My Glaciers are some years old now (5 years ?) and only have a problem with the extra rand peeling in some spots, witch the WLF does not have so Im predicting great things from this boot. They are a little on the stiff side, but thats why I bought them. For hiking purposes these may take a while to fully break in for good flex during walking, so I might suggest shorter hikes before any epic thru hikes. I just cant think of any negative things to say about these boots. If I was a tire salesman I would market these as a run flat! They just wont blow out... and I am hard on boots. Quality Italian!! Super happy LaSportiva custy for life.

Great Fire and Hiking Boot

I purchased this boot because i was tired of blisters and needed a boot that i could lace up and hit the ground running. The boot held up good thru a 5 month fire season. The boot is insulated so be prepared for a warm foot. This was nice at nigh but a little annoying during a scorching day. But as most firefighters know and or will learn having a good boot is one of the most important things you could have and i received this from my pair of Sportivas. The laces had to be upgraded to kevlar because i burned/cut mine but other than that i had little problems. The boot took about 40 hours to break in, the break in phase was a little bothersome but for me it was due to the boots being laced to tight. The glue held up good, but i can see it becoming an issue down the road, i figure ill get one more season out of the boots and ill get another pair.

Perfect. The Dog also approves.

With boots of this type, moving from "old" boots (they died this spring at 19 years from neglect--the previous boots lasted for 36 years) to these new boots, they either fit exactly, or they don't, and they feel exactly as they should, or they don't. There's no four or three-stars: these have to be perfect or they're a failure. These are perfect.

Good Boots!

These boots performed great during the fire season. They are a little stiff, but I like that. They held up well, and I think I will get several seasons out of them!

Decent boot.

Works fine for a lineman boot. Seemed to have enough support for climbing. I was hoping it would last longer but I still only got about 6-9 months out of them before making my feet sore.
