Great shoe
I usually wear a size 6. I ordered 6.5 based on other reviews. They are a perfect fit! I wanted a light, solid, yet comfortable shoe and these were the perfect choice! I hike trails that are not always even. They are often muddy. These have great traction, they really perform on rugged terrain. At the same time, they feel like your favorite tennis shoe! Easy to clean and you really can wear them anywhere.

For average feet, true to size fit. Awesome traction! Comfortable!
Bought for first mountain hike. It was a very challenging wet leaf, wet rock, and rough terrain. The grip of the shoe was wonderful. No issues with my feet when done which meant they did the job comfortably. The temp outside was 30 degrees. My feet were warm and I used thin cotton socks. I wouldn't say they are waterproof, but *mildly* water resistant. My feet or socks were not wet, despite the damp terrain. I now use these for work everyday. I have some feet issues and my feet hurt sometimes BUT NEVER WITH THESE shoes. Even after 8 hours of work standing and running around on my feet! Highly recommend.*** THESE ARE FOR AN AVERAGE DIMENSION FOOT. If your foot is tall or wide over what would be considered average, then you may want to consider something else.

Amazing Trail / Hiking Shoe!!
LOVE these shoes and highly recommend!! I hike or trail run a couple times a week some extreme stuf. I actually bought these for Grand Canyon R2R. I feel like I’ve tried all of the shoes & they are either clunky, hurt my feet or are too soft without the protection I need on the trail. These are light, agile, but sturdy. They feel like a street running shoe, but have the protection for your toes (I tend to hit a lot of rocks when I hike) and support in your heels for when you’re carrying a pack. I’ll be buying more.

Fantastic shoes!
These shoes are amazing! I ordered them to wear on the mountain trails in Colorado. I needed something with traction to prevent slipping and falling. They did the job!My daughter and I both have a pair. We ordered half size bigger. They fit perfect and are very comfortable!

They run really small
4 stars because the extreme discrepancy in sizing.I ended up returning my size 10 womens (I typically wear 9.5 and go to 10 for things like running shoes and hiking footwear) and instead got a MENs size 10.5! The womens sizes didn’t go up high enough/have higher sizes available. But if there’s a question whether you need to size up… do. I ended up getting the womens equivalent of a size 11.5 which is kind of insane to me but now that I have them in a size that fits I love them. They run really slender, so if you have really skinny feet (I’d say my feet are very much average slenderness) maybe you don’t need to size up more than a half size. But the womens 10s for me weren’t long enough either, so either way, size up!

Great Light Hiker!
So glad I landed on these La Sportiva Trail Shoes. Just got back from a few days of hiking in Sedona (4-7 miles or so each day) and they held up great. Traction was amazing! No slipping on the rocks at all though my husband's Solmon trail runners slipped several times. I wear a 9M in a women's regular shoe and a 9 1/2 in running shoes. I needed to bump up to a !0 in these to find the perfect, arch-hugging fit. If you have a wide foot, these are probably too narrow for you. There was no forward sliding of my foot on the downhill and no pressure at all on my toes. Came home blister-free and zero issues with my feet. Yay!

Narrow feet rejoice!
I wear a true narrow shoe. Not normal shoes that "run narrow", it has to be a narrow built from a separate narrow last. It took me over 3 years to find a hiking boot that I could wear (Asolo) and I had basically given up on finding a trail runner. None of the running shoe brands carry trail runners in narrow. I recently read a few articles about La Sportiva being narrow (and again, I was skeptical because I can't wear shoes that "run narrow" it has to be built narrow). But I gave them a try and these were amazing straight out of the box.The sizing is a little tricky which is why I am writing this review in the hopes it helps someone else. I wear a 9-9.5N in most shoes and a 10AA/N in running shoes (thank you Brooks and Asics). I read the reviews to size up so I tried these in the 9.75, the 10 and the 10.5. I could have made the 10 work but happily the 10.5 gave me the extra length I needed without adding too much extra width. Oh and ignore the EU sizing. I'm normally a 39 or 40 and these claim to be a 42.5 so something isn't lining up.The fit is excellent -- low volume forefoot means my foot isn't swimming but there's a wide enough toe box to spread out. The mid-foot is snug when laced up tight and my otherwise normal heel doesn't slip with normal lacing techniques (I didn't need to tie it with the heel lock technique). They even look nice!If you have a narrow foot, these are your shoes. If you have a "runs narrow" foot, you are probably good to go. If your foot skews wide, I would pick one of the other gazillion shoe options made for you instead.
