I just started climbing recently so I decided to buy my first shoes. After reading endless reviews on different websites, I chose this shoe. I'm so glad I did. I tried them out today at the rock gym and loved them! At first the felt a little too high in the heel, but after I started climbing, I didn't feel any discomfort. These are great shoes.
I tried seven different climbing shoes before I found these. I had to size down from an 8.5 to a 7.5, but the fit is perfect for my narrow feet with long toes. I am a beginner climber doing mostly sport routes outdoors. I have found that all climbing shoes are tight and uncomfortable, but these are the most tolerable that I have worn while still being extremely capable shoes. I was able to start doing much harder routes when I bought them, and sometimes I do forgot I have them on and balay my partner without changing into my approach shoes. They were perfect out of the box and did not need any breaking in, although they do have a nice stretch when they warm up. I’ve been using them for about 3 months and they are still in great shape. Even the white leather still looks good after kicking around in red dirt. I top rope 5.9s and easier 5.10s and I’m just learning to lead, and they are perfect for my beginner capabilities.
These are a great beginner shoe. I can wear them for a few hours at the gym and my feet never bother me. They are super snug when I first put them on, but as soon as they warm up they are good to go! The only problem is when I take them off, the inside peels off a little at a time and sticks to my feet. It doesn’t seem to effect the performance of the shoe at all, but I have only had them a few months. I had thought maybe it was just because they were new but after 30+ wears, I still have orange all over my feet when I take them off. Overall it is a great shoe and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another pair.
These are perfect. Super comfortable on the heel. True to climbing shops size, so slightly tight in the toes. Love them
I’m just getting started climbing, and I wanted a starter pair of shoes. I went with the tarantula because it was most affordable, but having gained some knowledge about what I need, I wouldn’t purchase these again. They fit me fine, so I thought they would work fine at the climbing gym. The only other shoes I had used were rentals, so I thought these would be better. They aren’t very grippy, which is the first thing I noticed (compared to the rentals). There appears to be an excessive amount of glue around the seams. And the toe box is too large for me, even though they rub up against my heal and give me blisters. I’d still say these are okay for beginners, but I definitely won’t be purchasing this style again.

Great shoes! The velcro straps make life easier when my fingers are dead and can't untie laces. They fit well, but I could've gone down a size smaller for a more snug fit in the toe area. They also come up higher in the back then I'm used to, which initially caused some blisters, but nothing to complain about. Overall, they are durable and do what I need them to do.
