No 'break-in' needed with these!

These are my 2nd pair, they're excellent trail runners/walking shoes, and need no time to break 'em in. Really, I forget I have them on cause the they're so comfortable. There's a bit of heft to them, but really, once they are on your feet -feel cushioned & supported. The toe box is roomy and the heel won't slip on me (I have narrow heels). Also there aren't ankle or heel hot spots. the laces can be taught for a more secure feeling or if you ankles gotta have some room, loosen 'em and you're good. I usually wear a 7-8, but I bought these in 8.5 and they're perfect. Mid-to-dark gray mesh with red lace hooks makes for a more neutral selection than many of the flashier colors out there. During Covid times I walk approx. 7-10,000 steps a day on pavement and hiking trails and started to wear out the treads in about 1.5 years. So glad to get the same shoes!

Great hiking shoe

I bought these shoes specifically for our trip to the Canadian Rockies. Even though they are considered trail runners I ended up using them as hiking shoes. They are light and very breathable - just perfect for the summer hike. The sole is stiff with multiple cleats which provides pleanty of stability. Overall they provide good grip on wet or dry surfaces. When stepping on exposed tree roots they will slide - so make sure to watch were you step. The construction at the top prevents any debris from getting into your shoe. They are very comfortable to were on the long, challenging hikes. This is an Italian company and the sizing is a bit different. I'm usually size 9M US or 39B/M EU, however, after trying a pair in MEC store I ended up going with size 8M US/39.5.

Great hiking shoes!

These are the best shoes! I had to return to get the correct sizing as they run a little small to me, but overall they are comfortable and didn't need to be broken in for hiking. If you go in dusty areas though your socks and feet will get very dirty as it goes through the holes in the fabric. They clean well with a brush and the logo doesn't stand out terribly, I personally hate wearing brands that advertise on the product I am wearing.

Unless I'm in the house I rarely take these off.

I know these are trail running shoes, but they are so comforable above all my other sneakers that I rarely go out without them. The wildcat trail running shoes have excellent support and reduce pronation as they have a very solidly supported arch. The shoes are great for walking running, trails or city streets. I would say the only downside is that they don't open widely to put on. They are a snug shoe with a tongue that is attached and does not come away from the shoe, which is good as it doesn't move around. However, the downside is that it's a bit cumbersome to put on. I would steer away from these if you have hand mobility issues as pulling them on would be much harder. You cannot fit your feet in them without a bit of a struggle due to the tongue style. For those without hand/arm mobility issues they would work alright.

Very slippery

The shoes fit very well and confortable for running over dry trails but if you walk over wet rock or even any wet floor be careful because the soles are SUPER SLIPPERY. I have another La Sportiva pair of shoes, the Boulder X model, and their soles are excellent for walking over wet surfaces.

Great for loose rocks hiking and walking up and down hills

These are great for climbing if they’re already in shape. If you’re not in shape for it, then you will have to adapt your Achilles to the extra stiffness in that area. When they get wet, they tend to dry quickly. So if you know you’re gonna walk through water, don’t sweat it they will dry quicker than those shoes if you can’t stop and dry out.Because they are so grippy, the nubs on the bottom will wear off quickly, but in that on the other hand, it is keeping you safer than soles that are harder and less flexible that you slip. This is my second pair.
