I bought these boots to replace another pair that I have had for 10 plus years that finally started leaking. Quality is still good. Easy on and off. I hope these last as long as my last pair.
2d pair, first got years of heavy use. Just a great boot. Mid thigh, as opposed to crotch height. Best part: stays up without those belt straps that want to pull your pants down. Just pull 'em on, pull 'em off, one easy motion. Other best part, very well made, lots of experience obviously went in to the design. I use for fishing smallish streams. Do I ever get water in over the top? Sometimes, occasionally if I'm not paying attention. Solution, take it off, dump it, put on again. Works great.
My husband changes water all summer and these are the only boots he will buy. I also have a pair and they work great. They are sturdy but not to heavy and you can walk a long way without a lot of slippage. In the ditch they have enough rubber that your feet don't get super cold and they stay where you plant your feet. They have good traction. I gave them a four out of five only because fifteen years ago when they had a metal shank they were a better boot but I guess the company went for keeping costs down and the fiberglass shank does ok.
I bought these to use well launching in retrieving my boat from the salt water here in Puget sound in the Pacific Northwest. I need to get into the water about up to my knees in order to retrieve the boat and align it to the trailer properly. I don’t need to wear them in summer months, but they sure are nice in fall, winter and spring. I’m 6’4” and they come up about half way from my knee to my waist. They are perfect for what I use them for. I got one size larger than normal to ensure they would be easy (and fast) to put on/take off.
These boots are perfect for my fishing needs. The stand-up on their own without a strap. Great for launching my boat alone for fishing.
Delivered on time. I was looking for a rugged hip boot in the 26" range for fishing the streams and river banks with thick briars and bushes. Also needed a boot for launching the boat. They stay up without belt straps. I wear a 9 1/2 but ordered the size 10 knowing I would add a removable felt inner sole for comfort and warmth. Perfect fit. LaCrosse are a bit more expensive than most but the extra cost went into higher quality construction.
