Love the shoes. I have many expensive name brand shoes and these are just as good and probably more comfortable. It's a great everybody shoe but could also be used on the trails. I will mention they do run small. Buy at least one size bigger.
Everyone is thinking it, so I'll just say it... is this a viable alternative to an Altra Shoe? And my answer is maybe. Depends on why you like Altra. These have great lugs, they're true to size, plenty of room in the toe box and midfoot, even has a secure heel fit, and a decent amount of cushioning. There is a bit of a hot spot for me at my pinky toe, but that's just me and tbh it loosens up as I run and goes away. Thankfully with these shoes you could probably keep the front lacing loose and the top lacing tight and have the best of both worlds of comfortable feet and a secure fit onto your foot.So what's wrong with them? Two minor things. The shoe may be flat / zero drop...but the insole is not. I had to replace the insole with an old Altra one and they felt perfect after that. The other thing is the cushion... it did feel like a firm ride....similar to Inov8s old TerraUltras if you are familiar with those. It's not super uncomfortable, but it's far from the Ego Cushion that Altras provide.So if you are looking for a shoe that looks and feels like an Altra for the most part, I am happy to say this may be the perfect fit for you as I feel it is for me. But, if you like Altra for their comfort and cushion, and wanted something more plush... I think you'll find these fall a little flat in that area in particular. But I will say a few runs in, it only feels more comfortable, so maybe just give them a try!*UPDATE*Just wanna give an update, months later these shoes are still great, wide, comfortable, and the lugs are staying reasonably durable. I do find myself wishing these came in all black (no other color just black) because I could see these being a great comfortable every day shoe...if only it came in just black all around. Other than that, I am happy.
Not bad for price, amazing room, but overall I feel unstable as the shoe sole is too squishyAnd imagine will roll.. foot also seems to slide around too much and tounge needs more padding in order to comfortably tighten laces. Good shoes as maybe outdoor slippers?
these are the rare shoe that is shaped like a foot yes they are wide but a wide ass pointy toe shoe still sucksthese are wide and foot shaped, not pointed.they seem like a well made shoe but it is too soon to tell. at this price who cares about durability?
I've ordered several shoes that were described as extra wide on Amazon only to have a medium width shoe show up. This Lamicoa shoe is not only extra wide, it is much higher quality than the price would indicate. It is build very well ahd has a sole that is standing up to daily walks on pavement, gravel, and dirt.
Goal: wide, correct foot shape, zero drop, durable outsoleShoe brands that fit my foot shape: Whitin, Joomra, BeLenka, Splay, Jim GreenTried, but not a good match: Altra, Topo Athletic, Fitville.Pros of these shoes: great rugged outsole, lightweight, comfortable, almost matches my wide foot shape, modest branding and decent looks.Cons: not as comfortable as the Whitin sneakers, nor as wide (though the Whitin outsole wears quickly). Not zero drop. Insole is meh.Wore for a few hours walking today with Northsole inserts swapped in. Feet were happy and only concern/gripe is that my outer midfoot spills over the edge of the sole a little bit, though it doesn’t seem to be an issue past potentially creasing the foam. 9/10, buying in every color.
Well made. A little Wide - wide is more like EEE for a size 11. Good traction in rain. Great value
