Very comfy, GREAT tread, well known high quality brand! They run large - go half a size down.
I got these boots to replace my north face snow/hiking boots that I’d had for well over a decade until one finally cracked. I chose these more because I expect quality from this brand as opposed to all of the random, generic (overseas) brands out there. When it comes to a good, waterproof snow boot, I prefer to stick with a brand known for quality.Normally, quality will cost you. These boots are fairly inexpensive by comparison to other well known brands, and I am very happy with my purchase.Important things to know:The boots run large. I wear an 8.5 (in pretty much every shoe, every brand), and the 8.5s were huge on me. Even with thick socks on, they were too big. But it was easy enough to return them and then buy the size 8. I was too hesitant to go down to a 7.5, but in all honesty, a 7.5 would probably fit me just fine. The 8s are perfect though, especially for the days I might wear a thicker sock. The tread seems great so far! I haven’t slipped at all yet, and we’ve had plenty of ice and snow for me to try these out on. My 70lb dog tends to pull me on walks (we’re working on that lol), so I wanted boots with good tread so I don’t slip. These are definitely slip-resistant.The boots definitely keep my feet warm without being uncomfortably hot, and dry even in deeper snow. They don’t feel heavy at all, which was something about my old boots that sometimes bothered me. Sometimes a good, water resistant snow boot with good tread will be heavy. These are not.I was also looking for a boot that would be easy enough to slip on and off for walking my dog during the day. My old ones zipped up and were as easy as it gets. I couldn’t find any good zip-up boots, but these are easy enough to slide my foot into.Note that the eyelets at the top of the boot, which look similar to the kind you see on many other kinds of shoes, are not open. In other words, the laces do not come out of them unless you actually pull them out through the eyelet (is that even what it’s called?). One of the first things I did when I put the boots on is try to pull the laces out to the side so I could tighten them, and that’s when I realized this. So they don’t “hook” the lace; they actually completely hold the lace.As for the style of the boot, it wasn’t my favorite when I was looking around for new boots. But these faux fur on top does look cute, and my husband actually said he really liked the boots when I wore them with leggings. And he’s kind of a shoe snob. ;)Finally, I have to say that it kind of feels like you’re walking on a cloud with these. I don’t remember reading that they were memory foam soles or anything, but they feel great! All in all, I’m thrilled with these boots. I’m glad that I was convinced because of the brand to get these instead of several other brands I can’t even pronounce but that looked super cute. I’ve learned that shoes are not the best quality from these random sellers, so I don’t even bother with them anymore. They may look cute, but they probably won’t last as long as my old boots or as long as I imagine these boots will.In summary, if you need a good water-resistant snow boot with gripping tread that looks cute enough, is of high quality, and doesn’t cost a fortune, these are your best option. Just remember that they do run large. My suggestion is to order half a size down the first time.
