My daughter has been dancing for over 8 years and we found this style tap shoe when she was 5. We absolutely love the style, no worrying about laces and tying them. Soft and comfortable to use from time of arrival.
I put my four year-old boy in tap, and these shoes are great for him. All the other styles are very feminine. These are not they go on very easy for his wider toddler feet and they stay on very well.
We typically use Bloch and Capezio shoes for dance as that is what the local dance store sells mostly. I have never heard of this brand, so I wasn't sure what to expect. We have been in dance going on 4 years now and my daughter's shoes typically last the entire season, unless she grows out of them. I decided to try these out for the beginning of the year to see how well they hold up. They do fit appropriately for the size I ordered, and the stretchy top allows children with wider feet to be able to wear these as well. My daughter has been wearing these for several months now as dance season has started and I haven't had any issues with any wear and tear or the quality. I will say when holding them next to the Bloch tap shoes, these shoes have a lower quaility of leather and the metal makes a different sound when it "taps." However, since Bloch recently raised their prices, these are a great affordable alternative.
These are very good true to size tap shoes. They fit perfectly for the size 2 that we got and they are a really good style that let's my son's foot bend and move as it needs to. I also like that they are made well, all seams stitched well and the taps secure and the elastic is very stretchy. Much lower price than specialty stores and they are the same quality.
These slip-on tap shoes look cleanly finished in black. The photos show the metal toe and heel taps secured with screws, and mine were tight right out of the box. The textured rubber section on the sole in the pictures adds helpful traction when walking to and from the floor. The elastic gore at the instep makes them easy to put on and keeps the fit snug during basic steps. The elastic bands are on the sides, which works better for tapping stability. The taps produced a clear sound in practice, and the shoes felt supportive for short classes. Sizing felt as expected, with a comfortable, close fit. Overall, a straightforward pair that works well for beginners or casual dancers who want ready-to-wear tap shoes.
Shoe is great quality and slips on easily, but the fit seems bigger than others!
I'm reviewing these tap shoes as the non-dancing mom of a 4 year old who just completed her 1st year of tap. What I'm saying is-- I'm far from an expert. My knowledge of tap shoes is extremely limited.My daughter was super excited to open this new pair of tap shoes. She has been through 4 pairs already in her 1st year, partly resulting from a growth spurt, partly resulting from me buying online without knowing how a certain brand will fit. I took a leap of faith with these tap shoes and assumed they'll fit true to size. Pleasant surprise-- they sure did!These shoes are a little different from her previous pairs as these do not have laces nor do they have velco, they just have some elastic. I was a little nervous about that because we wouldn't be able to adjust the fit at all. Another win-- with a perfect fit, we didn't need any help from laces or straps. Plus, these shoes were SUPER easy to get on, and my kiddo was able to put them on and take them off with zero help from me.It's a little difficult to get a solid, consistent, accurate answer from a 4 year old, but she says these shoes are 'the comfiest from all the tap shoes I had'.I can't speak to durability as we've just started using this pair, but they appear to be constructed well and I fully expect them to hold up until she grows out of them. Great buy!
