Fits and ready to dance

These shoes fit true to size. Being a budget pair they are good quality for practice shoes. Being fabric, they breathe. The soles are covered with what seems to be genuine suede, so depending on your floors or where you’re going to be performing, you may want to run them in a bit before you get to really dancing a lot. They make a good set of character shoes without breaking the bank. The style is the kind of thing that goes with a lot of eras for costumes. I would order these again.

Great fit - good dupe for historical footwear

Disclaimer: I am not a dancer. But I do historical costuming. Reproduction historical footwear is so incredibly expensive. I have found that Latin dance shoes in this lace-up style can be modified to make passible historical footwear. As is, they can pass for Edwardian ladies shoes. Replace the laces with ribbons or add buckles or some rhinestone shoe clips and you have something passable for 18th century. I put sole protectors on the suede bottoms for outdoor wear, although to be fair I haven't spent all day traipsing around outside in a pair yet so I can't speak to how long they'll last. But I've walked outside enough for photo shoots, and I've worn them to an event or two (change into them at the venue). I have a pair in burgundy from another company but I thought I'd try these in solid black. This brand is a perfect fit for my feet, and they are much better made than the last pair I bought from a different brand. I wear a 10.5 wide, and the size 10.5 is spot on for me. I wish they came in other colors. I'd buy several pairs if so. But this pair is a great and inexpensive addition to my historical costuming wardrobe.
