I started having ankle issues from gardening. Our yard is old farmland so not nice & flat. I bought these boots to help support my ankles & didn't expect much else. These are really nice boots, fit true to size (I wear a 7M & bought a 7M) & are great looking besides. Seems a shame to use these for yard work because they are so pretty but I am glad I bought them. A boot has really helped support my ankles. If not for the fact I bought these specifically for gardening, I wouldn't hesitate to wear this boot out in public. They are just a little looser with thinner socks but I will switch to heavier socks in fall. I would not wear these without socks because they would be too loose but still a M width & not a L.
