My grandson is 3 he wears an 8. I purchased a 9 and happy I did. He wore thin dress socks with them. They run a “little” small. They are a little stiff getting on but no complaints from him afterward, and no blisters or rubbing when he took them off that evening. He wore them about 5 hours running around dancing and doing what 3 year old boys do. They looked very nice with his tux and held up well. I could see where they may scuff if the child were crawling around in them but walking running etc they were fine. Pleased with this purchase
