Great boots!
Very cute and comfortable with a good price. These kept my feet warm and dry. I sized down to an 8 from my normal size 9.

Very cute and comfortable with a good price. These kept my feet warm and dry. I sized down to an 8 from my normal size 9.
This is my review for the London Fog Womens Winley Duck Boots. As I show in my video, my feet stayed warm and dry after walking 4 miles in very muddy, wet, snowy conditions. So A+ for waterproofness!😃They are true to size too. I wear a size 8 1/2 - 9 and got a size 9. None of my toes touch the end, which is just the way I like it. And, although the boots seemed rather narrow to me, I was able to remove the very thin insoles that come with the boot and put my regular insoles right in their place. They fit perfectly without having to trim or adjust their size at all, so that shows that the inner soles of these boots are exactly the same as the other size 9 sneakers that I have (just a little narrower). Perfect!I included pictures of the boot's insoles so you can see how very thin they are. They're a very thin piece of flat foam with a thin layer of felt-like material on the top.I found the sole of the boot itself to be rather hard and stiff and without much arch support. However, it's sloped/contoured in such a way that the the ball of your foot is lower than the heel and the toes, thereby giving it some supportive shape that does help your arches a little. I recommend putting your own insoles in, unless you're young and/or dont have any foot issues. I'm in my mid 50s and I have neuropathy, amongst other foot issues, so I am very particular about trying to attain the best possible foot comfort. I also found that the boots were much more narrow and fitted than the comfy loose sneakers I'm used to wearing. Your feet don't just slide easily into the boot, you have to kind of push them in. But they give you a nice tab on the back of the boot to help tug them on. I ended up loosening the laces as far as they could go before tieing the top, which helped, but it's still a snug fitted feel (due to the style of duck boots in general). So if you like to have a secure fitted feel, you'll probably love the way these feel. Great ankle support too!I also like that all around the inside of the boot, on the sides and the top and the tongue, it has a nice cushy and fuzzy layer, which prevents any hard seams from digging into you.Still, the style of this boot gave me a rather stiff constricted feeling all the way around my feet that I didn't think I would enjoy walking in since I'm used to a really loose flexible feeling on my feet. So I was really conflicted about whether to return them or just go for my walk and keep them. But since I only only paid $29.99 for them, and it was such a wet and slushy day, I decided to take the risk and just go for it! 🙃 What I thought was going to end up being a very short walk because of all the mud and slush and the new boots, ended up being a nice long walk!! 😀 I assumed, like with any new shoe, that my feet would be sore after wearing them, especially when walking so far in them for my very first wearing. But surprisingly, my feet didn't hurt at all!!! No blisters, no soreness, nothing! Compliments to the boot!... and my old insoles.I highly recommend these boots. I can't think of anything negative to say about them. I can't speak to the longevity of their wear yet, as that remains to be seen. But I love that I was walking in such messy wet conditions today with very happy warm dry feet! 🙂P.S. my friend was wearing water resistant work boots and his feet were completely soaked through with icy cold water sloshing around inside his boots. 😩 😓UPDATE: It's been OVER A YEAR since I got these boots, and I can honestly say that these are one of my 2 favorite pairs of footwear. I absolutely looooove them!! ❤️ 😀 I walk 3-4 miles / day and start wearing these in the Fall when the snow flies all the way through the end of mud season in the Spring. I live in New England, and during that time we have lots of crazy weather with snow, slush, mud, etc. These boots have seen me through it all without incident. (Not good on solid ice though!😵😆) But every day I have the Peace of Mind of knowing I can just throw these boots on and head out for my walk, and whatever the weather is out there, these boots will see me through it... keeping my feet toasty warm, but never sweaty. Just perfect. I walk on a dirt & gravel track and trail walk in the woods.... whether it's 6" of snow, 3" of mud, or deep puddles, it doesn't matter what I encounter. (see video) I've also been surprised to find that they are still so comfortable, even after so many long walks! I've done the math, and I think I've walked about 750+ miles in these boots so far and there is no sign of wear yet. 😲 ( ...other than the mud all over them 🤭... but they clean up easily under the kitchen faucet.) Obviously, they are a well made boot! I still wear my regular Dr S. plantar fasciitis inserts in them and was able to put the original insoles back in on top of mine. The boots relaxed just slightly over time to give me enough room for both (not quite as stiff and tight as when I first got them, but only a minor difference). I really can't say enough good things about these boots. I think they'll last me for many more years. But when they do 'die' eventually, as all things do, I hope London Fog is still making them because I, for one, will be getting another pair! 😁👣♥️
Ordered these to wear on rainy days. Today was my first day and I thought they were very comfortable repelled water and the fit was perfect. Color is good maybe a little dull since it’s not shiny, but no big deal, they’re just rain boots. Very warm. Also I noticed they have two liners. I took one of them off and it felt a little looser which was more comfortable to me. Still plenty padding and warmth. Overall I would recommend these if you’re looking for rainy day shoes, I don’t know about hiking or wearing for extended periods. I don’t plan on that so works for me.
Good quality, especially for the price. The stitching is good, they seem like they will hold up well. The soles are nice - not slippery like some rain / muck boots. They are comfortable and the toe area is lined with medium thickness fleece - which I like. I do feel they run a tiny bit smaller than what is typical. I usually wear a 9 and generally can comfortably wear a heavier sock with a 9, with this boot I need to wear a thinner sock. A 9 1/2 would be ideal but no half sizes available. That is why I removed one star. Otherwise, I’m very pleased.
I have been looking for two years for the perfect boot when going outside to walk our dog to keep my foot dry in the wet morning grass. They will also work perfectly when there’s a few inches of snow on the ground and you don’t really want to drag out the big boy snow boots lol. Having actual ties is perfect as it doesn’t allow too much extra room so the boot flops around and it also makes it much easier to put the boot on.The style is cute for this type of boot, there are no little funny characters all over the boot which is not what I was looking for but so many rain boots have that, they were true to size and best of all they are comfortable and warm! 🌟I will say that another reviewer mentioned about the toe area not being very roomy and I do agree with that. For my foot it will work fine but if you have a thicker foot with thicker toes, or if you’d like to work extremely thick socks it may not.Since I’ve literally only worn these boots outside a handful of times I can’t really comment on how well they will hold up but so far they have kept my foot comfortable and dry. I cannot tell you how thankful I am that this search for this type of boot is over!
I were these without even breaking them in on a trip to the badlands in south dakota. I hiked up and down these mountains without any pain or blisters. I ordered a size six, which is often right on the cusp of being too small but they were fine. The london fog label on the back did come off right away before I even wore them, but I just glued it back on with crazy glue. The quality of the actual shoe has been fantastic, though. I bought these while they were on sale. And i'm very happy with this purchase.
I am 5 feet tall and have small feet. I bought other boots, but the 6 inch height of most other boots comes up above my ankle and makes it uncomfortable to walk. The other boots seemed like I was wearing ski boots. These boots at 4.5 inches from the arch are perfect! The London Fog duck boots allows me free range of motion and fit my feet well. My goal is to keep my feet dry while hiking in Alaska during the rainy season. I'll let you know how the boots hold up after the trip. Right now the boots look great, are warm, and very comfortable! So Happy! They also shipped fast!
