These boots definitely live up to the lowa name. Very light weight and comfortable. I spend 12 hrs a day in them at work with absolutely no trouble. But if you buy them order one size up. I wear an 11, but a 12 in these fit snug.
I like these boots. I bought these to replace my Oakley desert boots. My opinions are in comparison to the oakley's.Few things I noticed that I didn't get from my other research that I did that you can find online: even though they are the same size as all my other boots I've ever bought, they are the shortest size 12 boot I've seen, makes my feet look smaller, no biggie. There is a good amount of padding on the front of the boot near and around the toe area, very cozy for the toes. The padding amount doesn't seem to follow through the rest of the boot unlike what I have seen in other boots. These are supposed to be a lightweight boot AND THEY ARE! Very lightweight. Laces are already wearing thin towards the top rungs(only have worn them about six times), probably need to replace these early on. Boots are pretty quiet when walking on most materials, and the outer sole is grippy. The removeable foot support isn't as supportive as is claimed, I'm fairly heavy 6'0 foot 250 lbs., maybe my weight requires more support.Not the best value around, but definetly unique and gets attention, which builds value in my book. Overall good quality footwear
Just a trifle snug around the 5th metatarsal, otherwise these are some of the best hiking boots I have ever worn. They are extremely durable and better looking than just about every other ankle-top boot out there. Lowa for show-a.
Update: I have had these for just a while longer, and they are already falling apart. One of the lace loops is fraying through and will not hold much longer. Doesn't look fixable. And the sold fabric has worn through. My previous Lowas lasted for YEARS, while these seem to be lasting only for months.Old: Very light and comfortable. I have had these for a while now, and wear them every day because they are so comfortable. They are not showing any wear yet. Considering a second pair so the can dry more after wearing and thus last longer. Minus 1 star for smell! They gave me terrible foot odor. I had to buy some odor-killing powder that I use every time. My feet do not normally smell at all.
love these boots! i have worn them on 3 deployments deep into the mountains of afghanistan! never failed me! fit great out of the box, no break in time! warm enough to get you through the winter (with good socks) and in the summer they dont get too warm! no issues here!
I ordered a pair of these boots a short while ago and was amazed on how quick I got the package. I'm guessing it got here fast because it was only half of the weight. I opened the box to find out I only had ONE BOOT! Not a pair. Just the left one. When I pay almost two-hundred bucks for a pair of footwear, I expect a PAIR. I figured I could just send either Amazon or Lowa an email and explain to them my situation and maybe get the right boot sent out. Unfortunately, I cannot find any option to send them an email on either Amazon's website nor Lowa's website. I could only find a return option for the boot. I am in a part of Afghanistan right that does not send outgoing mail. So I really don't have an option but to keep this $184 paperweight. I've been an Amazon customer for all three of my deployments and until now, had no problem. I expected more from Amazon. And Lowa should be ashamed of themselves for poor accountability and quality control. The ironic thing is that the box had a QC inspector paper in it. So according to them, they checked it. Which means this must have been intentional. I do, however, still have my older Lowa's and the boots are actually great boots. Now if only they can pull their head out of their forth point of contact and send me what I payed for.
Great summer-time boot, soft sides (???lateral support), very light weight, breathable...non-Goretex. Tread pattern (sole) do not support ball-of-foot push off, as in steep excelerated climbs...wears out. Yet,a good boot offering good traction for a spell.Haven't experienced the delamination of the sole as I have heard of happening before.
