Schroedinger's Cat of Shoes - Are They Nice or Good, or Aren't They?
- I’m sure these will loosen a bit with time and use, but right out of the plastic wrapping they arrived in, they’re pretty tight on the feet overall. They ultimately feel a bit small, and to be honest, that isn’t usually the case with what were originally advertised as being those wide-toed shoes we love. I have several pairs from different brands and styles, but I was a little bit disappointed in the fit of these ones. Plus, the insoles they come with are fine, but definitely feel a bit cheap, and like they’ll even pill, which is odd. And you can’t really take them out and wear the shoes without them - even just being literally barefoot would be more comfortable than that, odd as that sounds. Still, at the current $13 price point, these shoes are worth the value paid. The “karate shoes” as my partner called them do seem like they just need a chance to be broken in a tiny bit first, but otherwise, they have a decent grip on the soles, they look nice and chill, and they don’t otherwise seem like they’ll too easily fall apart, so I’m happy to give them a better shot for now. Can’t say I’d recommend them at the moment, but definitely won’t say that I wouldn’t either. But I would consider trying out a half size up at least from your usual sizing, just in case I’m right about that slightly tighter fit.
