I liked these boots way better than I thought I would. Very pleasant surprise.
I wanted to have a pair of business casual boots that I could wear for work and stepping out of doors on occasion, and when these came up on Vine, I thought I'd give them a try. I wasn't expecting a lot given the price is reasonable, but I was willing to give them a chance. I am happy enough that I did.First thing I noticed when I looked that them is that they look way more like real leather than they should. I was pretty impressed with the looks of them. You can look at these things online, and they always look good, so I wasn't expecting these to be quite as attractive as they seemed on the listing. But I was quite surprised that they looked like that in the flesh. The wrinkle in the the front I think adds to this deception, which I am completely happy with. The boot, despite not being "real leather" looks real enough to me. Ok, fair enough, I have some shoes that look good, but I still don't wear them because they are uncomfortable. How are these?Surprisingly, I found them to be quite comfortable. My first full day of wearing them, I put on 6500+ steps, and I was surprised that my feet felt pretty good through all of it. Now, I am likely going to be putting an aftermarket insert in, but I do that for all of my shoes now, so that isn't casting these shows as needing one. It seems just fine, but few shoes have the spring and padding of a shoe insert. This seems like a decent enough stock one for a Demi-boot.The tread on it is also an all-weather kind of traction design, so it's not simply dress shoe slick. It functions well enough on the ice and snow I was walking on without too much slickness. Some people might consider roughing it up a bit if you are walking in those kind of elements often. They are nice thick soles, and I see no issues with that.Now, the issue with demi boots is putting them on. I have a pair that I like but that are a royal pain to put on with the laces, loosening them all the way down so you can get your foot in. These have a cleverly designed elastic fabric insert, I guess they call it goring, of a density not unlike the elastic on bottom of furniture cushion supports, on the sides that will expand to allow your foot to enter the boot easily enough, and still say secure. That is a great feature.I am quite happy with that so far.The last issue I think I will touch on is the size. I wear a 9.5 ish most of the time, but a lot of these Asian shoes always seem to measure short, so I ordered it as a 10. It fit pretty comfortably, meaning it seemed fairly true to size. The 10 works for me, but it is not an overly tight fit. I can wear this with winter socks and not feel like my feet are being squeezed.I think overall these are pretty well made boots that mimic leather very well, are comfortable to wear, and are the right sizing. Almost no one will be able to tell these are not real leather, if that matters to you. It does to me to a degree, but I think they look quite nice and are an excellent value for the price.

Comfortable, retro stylish, dressy or semi-casual ....
These boots are well made, stylish and very comfortable. The styling so reminds me of the mid-1970s when, as a kid, I had similarly styled boots with the elastic sides, just like these. Brought back memories. These boots definitely work for going out on dressy or semi-casual occasions. Here in the NorthEast, I would probably not wear them when there is lots of snow out; they are simply too nice for that. Otherwise, for me, they work with a wide variety of outfits. Very comfortable too. Highly recommended. A++++++++

This Boot Sacrifices Comfort for Appearance
This boot is really beautiful! It has a naturally worn look to it with the leather being folded where the foot meets the ankle. Houston, we have a problem . . . That folded, worn look is for appearance only. It is actually leather molded to to look folded, and that creates a huge problem for men like myself who have high arches. Due to the shoe's inability to flex where that molded leather is stationed, my foot cannot go into the boot. I really forced it in, and then once in, I did walk, only in excruciating pain because that molded area is never going to give. The shoe business is relying on science to help design its products. New companies trying to get into the business better start realizing that the public is not stupid, and we buy what dictates good foot health.
