Very shiny, classy dress up shoes
These terrific black brogans are really classy. Super shiny patent leather finish really gives my outfits that special pop of dressiness that goes from jeans to funky skirts. I wore them to a hippie concert at the local last Saturday and got nothing but compliments. More comfortable than I hoped for, since my feet are shaped sort of strange. The toe bed is less narrow than many brogans but still have that old-school pointy look. Great piercing detail gives a nice vintage look. These shoes are classic, and this style has been around for 100 years. Can't go wrong with these. Very nice rubber soles that grips well. No slipping on damp hall floors. Very well made with no cheapness to them. Like most brogans there is not a lot of padding in the sole bed, so if you want more cushioning maybe buy a little insole. These shoes have a very distinctive 'new shoe' smell when first taken from the box. I put them outside on the porch overnight and that aired them out perfectly. Very comfortable with no pinching and the heel didn't rub and cause a blister. I think I could have ordered a size smaller as these are about 3/8" longer than I usually wear but with a medium weight sock, they fit quite well. I usually wear a size 39. Very reasonable price, even for patent leather. Shoestrings are dress shoe style, slim and round. I really like these and I'm hoping they last quite a while.
