Comfort, durability and value in an AR670-1 compliant package
I am a former U.S. soldier and am a current member of our reserve state defense forces. I specifically was told NOT to order "cheap Chinese boots on Amazon". Having worn issued boots in combat, I knew how critical the proper FIT was for boots. Because of the decent return policy I ordered 12 different pairs of boots and began the process of elimination. I have wide and flat feet and tried ALL the 'big' brands, after reading tons of reviews on other sites. When it came down to it, this HANAGAL military boots simply felt the absolute BEST on my feet. They are lightweight yet durable. The toe box had enough space and didn't bind. The heel box is supportive but not binding. The upper is did not bind or pinch, but gives adequate protection and support.I did choose to replace the insole with a very high rated aftermarket one, simply because I wanted the BEST fit and feel. And after a year of monthly drills, plus both indoor and outdoor supplemental missions and annual training, I can honestly say that I LOVE these boots. WHY? Because I can put them on, and FORGET about them. I just do my JOB. The tread is aggressive enough, yet the sole is both flexible and durable. Metal 'speedlace' eyelets make putting them on a breeze. The seams have held and the materials are durable yet comfortable. If I were active duty, I might need to replace them due to daily wear, however, being that I only wear them four to six days a month, I can foresee them lasting at least another year, and likely beyond. Well made boots that meet MY need, and the price to value is great. They ARE "lightweight" meaning not winter or waterproof. But that's fine for my needs. Everyone's foot is different, and the need varies. But if the specs sound like what you could you, I HIGHLY recommend that you at least buy and try a pair on. You might just be surprised what a 'value' these HANAGAL boots could be. And remember, you can ALWAYS replace the insole.
