Good Visual
Distance walking, jogging and running are what I do to stay healthy in the summer, and because I greatly dislike heat, I wear sandals a lot. These showed up here on the 'Zon, so I decided to give 'em a shot. These bear many striking differences, the #1 being the lack of Velcro straps! This gives them a great, "dressy" look...as sandals go, anyway...but the sacrifice is having to strap/unstrap the buckle whenever taking them on or off. Oh, and as you might've noticed in the photo, that thing I'm using on one of the straps is a leather hole punch. Yes...these are apparently hand-made, and the right sandal couldn't be tightened to my (not small) foot. (The other side had no problem.) So setting them up for the first time was harder than it should be. But they do look pretty good once on.I was going to write how horrible they feel, rubbing here and there, but these have a break-in period, it seems, and they actually got more comfortable as the day went on. Still, the bottoms of my feet seemed far hotter and more sweaty than with my usual athletic-style sandals, so I'll be saving these for days when visual appeal is more important than functionality. They do have a neat look not usually afforded men's footwear. And they even come in a cool clear, zippered bag! There's a lot to like about these, but I really wanted to like them a lot more.
