Looks amazing and fits like a glove
First these smell amazing. Really soft leather. The boots come with their own shoe bags. The fit is perfect for me. I usually wear a 9.5 US size in boots or a 10.5 in nikes. So I tried a size ten that my friend had. It was just a tad to big for me. I ordered the 9.5's and they are perfect fit for me. The heel/sole is extremely soft. The leather will need some breaking in. The is expected. If you have big calves, the top will pinch until the shoe breaks in. I'm wearing mine around the house a bunch before wearing them out on the town. Really nice boots. Exceptional for the price. I would buy these boots over and over again. Really nice quality!

Looking Good, Feeling Good, Five Stars...So Far
I've just gotten these boots, inspected them closely, and worn them once. So far, so good.For the price, they're great. At this price, you don't get leather soles and a Goodyear welt, but the rubber/plastic sole looks good. On close inspection, I didn't find any imperfections in the leather (and all parts of the upper ARE real leather). These boots look really, really good.The leather is NOT full-grain leather, however, it's top-grain leather (split) leather. It's been sanded and imprinted. It's not quite as thick as the leather of most boots, which makes it very supple and soft...almost like glove leather. It even looks from a distance softer than most boots, and there is a kind of elegance to that. The toe is reinforced, but isn't as rigid as normal boot toes; I'll be watching to see if it collapses, which would be a bad thing.This leather looks really nice and feels good, but time will tell whether it wears as well in the long run. My initial impression is that this is not a boot for rough wear purely as a matter of the thinness and softness of the leather. These are NOT motorcycle boots. I'd strongly advise keeping this boot well polished with a good wax shoe polish to protect the leather.There are a couple of reports of squeaking while walking. In my pair, that was caused by friction between the tongue and the underside of the throat. Wax shoe polish on both surfaces solved that problem. It was a nice touch that the boot laces (waxed dress laces, another sign that this is not a boot for hard wear) were already laced in the preferred straight-across bar pattern as shown in the pictures.I will see about the durability over time. I won't wear these boots hard, but I'll wear them frequently over the next few months. If this boot appears to fail too quickly, I'll remove some stars.

A few concerns
I purchased these boots based on the positive Amazon reviews. I agree with others that the leather and appearance quality are impressive for this price range. I have long slender feet and normally wear size 13 Keene hiking boot so I ordered the same size in this boot. These shoes were about 1/2 size too big on my feet and felt too roomy at the top. Even tightening the laces could not help them fit better. The width of the sole was fine.The other concern I had was the poor comfort of the sole. These shoes definitely lack support and are worse than any other boot ever worn. You will need to order inserts to improve the comfort. I regrettably had to return the boots because the size was too big, otherwise I would have kept them and bought inserts.

Cheaply made
Fairly comfortable but still not as comfortable for how much they cost. Wood paint on the soles started falling off within 2-3 days. Rubber coming apart from soles within a month. Zipper doesn’t stay zipped very well. Always comes down about an inch. Strap on back broke within a week.

Worth the money but not amazing
I bought a brown pair and the smell of glue hit me, I think the upper is leather and the bottom is synthetic. They are china made boots, not the greatest quality but they look great and the toe is perfect. Not too round and not square, they look great with jeans. The are not cushy but not unncomortable. The brown pair squeeked. I liked them enought so I bought a black pair too and the black pair was not black but dark brown. I liked them enough as super dark brown was what I wanted so I returned the brown pair. The black (really dark brown) did not squeek like the brown pair. They were laced wrong and slightly bigger than bu other size 9 pair but I will beat them up and get my moneys worth while I look for a higher end boot like Thursday or Taft.
