Horrible Smell!!

No box, you get your stuffed shoes sent in a fancy bag. The smell upon first opening the bag is very, very, strong of rubber/petrochemicals like... But, after I left the shoes out in the garage for 24 hours and removing all the inside paper stuffing, the shoes were fine, no more smell. Also, the shoe is not at all stiff. The upper material is very soft and malleable. The rubber/whatever sole is very thick and sturdy. Surprisingly, the shoe is very true to size, in a wide width, and very comfortable. Not sure how it will hold up to daily wearing as I only needed it for a special occasion and have only worn it for 2 days so far but needless to say, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I think the price reflects the quality; anything that is leather is going to be a bit more expensive, yet these are modestly priced, and I think that's because the leather isn't very thick. The shoes are undeniably shiny and attractive, and I haven't really broken them in yet, but when I did wear them the impression was that they will wear/stretch quicker because they are thinner. Not a criticism, just an observation. Were they twice the price I would expect something more substantial for leather footwear.
