For Fashion, Not For Hard Use
Sizing:I ordered the black cap toe Dockorio lace up side zipper boots in US size 10. My foot is a true 10.5 for Adidas, Nike, Salomon, and Asics running shoes, but I have learned to size down by 1/2 a size when it comes to boots. This has held true for Thursday Boots, Johnston & Murphy, and Golden Fox brand boots as well. Size 10 boot just seems best for my narrow foot with high arch. With moderately cushioned socks on, the size 10 Dockorios feel just right.Purpose:It's kind of amusing they call them "motorcycle boots". They are most definitely NOT suited for that function. These are first and foremost fashion boots. Meant to look nice when at work or say a social event, but they are not heavy duty enough to hold up to motorcycle riding or any rigorous duty. I would say if you're hard on your shoes, do a lot of walking on abrasive pavement, and often go out in rain or snow - wear something other than these boots. And don't expect them to last you long if you wear them 7 days a week and walk all over town. They're not built for that kind of wear and tear. Pay about 200 for a pair of Thursday Boots which will hold up to that kind of usage.Looks:The black leather looks exactly like the pictures in the advertisement. It definitely is real leather, not synthetic man made material. The leather is soft and supple, just a bit on the thin side. So it feels great out of the box, with almost no break-in required, but also means they are not for heavy duty use. The overall profile is slim and sleek for a boot. The sole of the boot has a rubber tread that is attached to a relatively thin sole that appears to be a flexible synthetic piece. The advantage here is that the thin synthetic sole flexes easily, so it's easy to walk around in the boots right away. A thick leather sole often takes a long time to break in and be comfortable. The down side of the thin sole is the relatively short lifespan if you intend to walk a lot in these boots.Value:I was looking to expand my footwear collection to include a good looking pair of black leather cap toe boots. A pair to wear to the office maybe once a week during fall and winter, or to an occasional casual social event. For $90 these Dockorios deliver the right amount of quality for the price point. If I wanted to pay more for something sturdier, then Florsheim Boots for about $150 would be the way to go. Next level up would be Thursday Boots for about $200 for great boots. Then Taft boots for about $250. With each step up you get nicer leather, better construction, and more longevity.Care:I applied Venetian Shoe Cream on the black leather and brushed it to a nice sheen with a horse hair brush. Then I put a few layers of Kiwi Parade Gloss black polish on the cap toes. Good to get the protective products on the leather fresh out of the box.

Love these boots!
I am a teacher and spend the day on my feet. I got these boots a year ago and ware them almost every day in the classroom, and sometimes when I got out someplace that requires me to dress up. I chose these boots for a couple reasons. They are zippered so easy to get on and off. There are inexpensive and would save my nicer dress shoes for more formal occasions. And they have a nice grip on the soles. I hopped they would last the semester.I am two semester into wearing them 8 hours a day five days a week. the leather has held up beautifully with slight cleaning and I’ve polished them a couple times. The boot it’s self is still as comfortable as the day I got them, if not more comfortable. The end of this year I will have to get the sole’s replaced, they are thin like a dress shoe and made out of rubber with small lugs for grip. For as much as I use them and walking/standing as I do I am impressed with how long the soles have lasted. I am buying a second pair in black so I can rotate the boots and have color options to wear for more formal occasions. Highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for a nice dress shoe.

Soft, comfortable, mostly great quality.
Love these boots. I use mink oil on them to keep them soft and looking nice. Only reason they arent getting 5 stars is the heel is peeling already. Seems too fast to me compared to others ive bought. But Id still buy them again.

I ordered a size smaller ordered a 9 and it fit wonderfully
I think the sizes are off I normally wear a size 10. I wear size 9 in these 10 Were Way too large. The nine fit perfectly. They are wonderful shoes! They look awesome. They feel awesome. I haven’t worn them. Did they walking in them but they feel real comfortable just walking around the house so far.

Fits well but for how much I paid, I am disappointed with the quality control...
I just received these boots a few hours ago and I was intending on using them for an upcoming wedding. For the amount I paid, the quality control is disappointing. The color is slightly faded and there are inconsistencies as shown in the photos. There are also two big marks on each ankle of the boot. It's as if they were worn before! Did I receive an open box/display item?
