Great Shoe At Any Price

I am an advanced trail rider. Descents yes, but no longer a downhiller. I'm blown away by the impressive value this Sandugo shoe delivers, at any price. I've been riding the Adidas Terrex Trailcross for several years now, because they are not clunky like the Five Ten Freedriders, yet have the same Stealth grippy sole as Five Tens. Great shoe. I had also used the Teva Links before that, which were just OK, dropped them. Over time the pins in flat pedals dig out the rubber in the sole and that's when it's time to look for replacements. For me, the Trailcross is just missing something in the fit, so I've been researching online, talking to local riders, etc. for a better fitting shoe. Also, over the years it became pretty apparent to me that changing pedal brands and dialing in on pin height can make the same shoes seem better than they were before. I have used the Rove Answer pedal, Raceface Chesters (both are fantastic), and just switched to the ChroMag Scarabs when the Chesters broke. The Scarab's advantage is in how many different pin placement configurations can be made for just the right set up - I'm methodically playing with that to dial in on a max setup, but the standard config is solid, glue like contact.Riding them for just over a month now, the Sandugos hug the pedal as well as the Trailcross, and In some ways better except when wet, the Sandugos feel like they loosen up some - only con. They flex for hike-a-bike more comfortably as advertised, and are super well made. The Trailcross run a bit narrow, and having a wide foot that is almost 2E I have always been wanting better comfort in a MTB shoe that securely wraps around my foot, but it must have the same great gripping sole. The Sandugo' are a perfect solution for me. I wear 11.5 normally so the 12's are what I bought (no 11.5 available). The fit is so comfortable, the shoes look great, and the quality is top notch like all the other reviews state. The stiffness to the pedal transmits power very well to the wheels. It is a very efficient, stable ride. Plus, the Sandugo width and shape wraps up and around to totally encase my foot. Comfortably secure. As good as all that is, the outstanding feature is the grip, which is as good as the TC's Stealth sole overall IMO. The pedal pins really do snug up into the Sandugo's tread pattern, and along with the grippy rubber I find makes for super foot traction in the way it easily enables the hamstring side of the pedal stroke. Nearest I've felt to being clipped in, in that regard. At the price point Sandugo sells this shoe for is a steal. You can get two pairs for the price on one pair of FiveTens. I'll be getting a second pair to switch off with.

Great MTB Shoes

I am running a set of flat MTB pedals on my bike and wanted shoes that will work well with good grip on the pedal, and without the clip less design if a typical mtb shoes. The soles of these shoes are perfect for them, frolicking onto the little pegs on the pedals very well. It's an electric bike and I am riding in offriad terrain, with high speed and high cadence on the pedaling, too. They do come loose if you hit rocks, but I am not sure what flat pedal shoes wouldn't.I got these because the seemed well made from the other reviews, and I would agree, so far, with two rides on them. It's a stiffer sole than a typical sneaker and that's good. My feet have actually gone numb pedaling in them, and that is only typical to wearing my cycling shoes for my road bike. Standing up for a minute takes care if it. They also fit well, wide enough but not loose.

They do run a bit small.

I had to return mine since they were too small and they did not have a size 13. I wear a size 12 US and their 12's were too snug. Other than that they seem like good mountain biking shoes.

Awesome MTB flats for beginners or budget concise buyers.

These are great shoes for the price. Owning a pair of 510 Freerider, these soles are not as grippy but after some descents, they grip well to the pedals. No pedal slip was encountered on familiar trails, even hit the same stump and the Sandugo protects my toes as well as the 510.Sandugo new is not as firm as my 1 year old 510 but still firmer than my Vans flats. Sandugo fits true to size while my 510 runs a little small. Riding the same trails, there's more debris in my 510 and while the shoe tongue of the 510 kept shifting to the outboard after each ride, Sandugo shoe tongue stays in place. On hike-a-bike occasions, these Sandugo works better than my 510 due to the slightly softer soles. High inboard heel and the lace straps are nice bonuses!

Low quality = ugly = $20 Fred Flintstone shoes

The quality makes them really just a $20 shoe and the fit is meant for people with Fred Flintstone feet. These are terrible for walking and especially terrible for riding any kind of meaningful terrain on a mountain bike.I bought these for MTB’ing as a cheaper alternative to Ride Comfort Assassins ($160) so I wasn’t necessarily into how they’d look but now that I see the low quality of the design, I want something that also is as good looking as it is comfortable. They’re moderately comfortable and fit ok (almost true to size) but it’s easy to see by the buckling “leather” material on the toe box that they are not that great of a quality in regards to how the shoe’s designers chose to create the toe box fit with too much of this material.I have Puma Super Liga’s that I’ve been using for MTB shoes for years now and just wanted to make the switch to a dedicated MTB shoe. Those Super Liga’s cost the same as this shoe and have zero quality issues other than they don’t last long enough probably b/c they’re obviously meant to be an indoor soccer shoe. It’s getting 1 stars b/c wtf they should be a better toe box fit b/c it’s a bit too roomy and I can feel that material buckling into my foot .Update; To add a bit more detail to why these are so bad and why they are being returned;- useless elastic band on the tongue … don’t see what the point is and how it helps anything- tongue constantly slides off to the side, making the top of my foot catch the bite of the laces- no heel cup to speak of … my heel kept sliding up no matter how I tied the shoes- there is no arch support and combined with a toe box that is made for Fred Flintstone or honey baked ham feet … so no matter how I tied the laces, my foot was always sliding around.
