A lighter weight "rubber" boot.
These seem sturdy and they do weigh less than conventional rubber (i.e. not PVC) boots, which is a good thing to my thinking. I got these because I have been using the same pair of rubber boots for about 30 years and I'm convinced they can't last forever (although they are still trying to prove me wrong). The top opening of these boots have is bigger and that makes it easier for me to slip my feet in. The downside of this is that they are too big around for me to slip the legs of my jeans over them like I can do with my old boots. Fortunately, these have the fabric sleave around the opening that helps to keep debris from falling doing into the boots. Note than the closure adjustment for this fabric is a thin piece of elastic cord that can't exert much force. It will help keep debris out but doesn't do anything to hold the boot in place (i.e. to resist the suction force of deep mud). Another plus of the larger opening with the fabric sleave is that the tops don't rub my chins the way my old boots do.They came packed with plastic airbags in the foot and leg of the boot to help them hold their shape in shipping. They also came with a second set of cushioned insoles (one set in the boots and another set in their own package), which is nice. I wear size 11 (US) shoes and ordered the 11-11.5 size. They fit fine. I can wear them with regular socks, but there is room for a thick boot sock. While the listing includes a photograph of someone wearing these to walk a dog on a sunny day, I wouldn't recommend wearing boots like this for dry conditions. But for rain and mud these are a great option. Only time will tell if they last 30 years.
