very comfortable leather. Little stiff on receipt, but softens up very quickly with use. Confortable arc and support for walking. Don't like the 2 velcro tighteners for back strap, rather than 1, but perhaps that better for balanced support. Once adjusted, there's no disadvantage.
I bought these last summer - they have lasted so long, no problems with them at all. I wear socks with them pretty much all the time. They are great in the rain, have good support.Looking forward to another summer with them.
The first Merrell sandals I had 10 years ago were soft and cushy from day one. These are not, but I've warn them every day for last two weeks on rocks, dirt, uneven ground, with socks, without socks....I like them. No blisters or hot spots; however, I usually have socks on. I've only worn them a couple times without socks.Super traction on dirt and gravel, sloped or not. Super traction! Not quite as good when the rocks are wet and sloped. I can't say if anything else would have been better on wet rocks.My last pair of sandals were of Columbia brand. I loved them too, but they are worn out now. I just threw them away.
Very comfortable and stays on my foot. Great support for my arches compared to several other sandals I own. Sole stiffness is firm, but not rigid.
Very comfortable, correct fit, adjustable-customizable velcro straps for top of foot (expected) and for back of ankle (not expected and very appreciated)
The rubber straps are too abrasive for my feet.
I had a pair of these that I wore for many years. This new paid is just as comfortable.
