Very Sturdy and Comfy but Don't Expect Boot-Like Lateral Support
Situation: Hands-On Engineer who walks 7-10,000 steps a day, combined with much desk work. Not a Tradesman. I much prefer the insanely comfy support of Salomon shoes when walking extensively, but Jungle Mocs are great for mixed walking/sitting. When your feet swell you don't need to kick them off.Pros:- Typical dependable, Jungle Moc comfort. Enough support for "just walking", but not enough support for climbing nor mixed terrain (outdoor non-paved). So don't expect a boot-fit.- VERY sturdy without being stiff. Composite Toe is strong and roomy-enough. Footbed is typical Jungle Moc "10-quality" cradling support.- These are a full step-up in firm support vs. standard Jungle Mocs. So they are well-qualified for industrial work, on paved surfaces.- Some people ridicule Jungle Mocs as "Dad Shoes", but I think they look sporty with jeans that don't drag on the shoe tops.- The soles are unique to Merrel's work shoes. According to other reviewers, the dots running down the center are likened to "Octopus Suction Cups" in that they enhance grip on smooth flooring. Not "sticky"; just better grip than smooth floors.Minor ConOne of my shoes quickly burned a 1/8" blister hole into the inboard (arch) side of one of my ankles, right behind the elastic gusset. But a) My feet pronate, so duh, and b) I put a small bandage on the spot until the shoe breaks in, so it's all good. You might want to pay attention to friction points until break-in is complete. These are sturdy shoes, after all.Highly Recommended

Durable/comfortable
Great fit. These are my go to work shoes for working in a machine shop.

Good stuff.
Comfortable, durable, everything I need in a work shoe. Not as sturdy and protective as a proper boot, but that comes with the territory when we decide to trade a boot for a shoe. I'll absolutely be buying another pair when these finally wear out.

These run a little big. Size down half a size when ordering. Otherwise, great work shoe.

Not comfortable but good quality materials
The construction quality of the shoe is good, the leather of the top of the shoe took a hit from a large thick sheet of material in front of the the composite toe that should have impelled my foot considering the weight and it was the point of the material. It gouged the leather but didn’t cut through with no injury to my foot. That being said the whole reason for the purchase of these shoes was the fit of some regular shoes of the same design and manufacturer that I wear when not at work. These work shoes do not support your foot or arch well at all ,they look like the other shoes and have a composite toe with slip prevention good quality leather but no comfort. I am a 350lb male who is on his feet walking 10 hours a day on concrete. They look like the other merrels I have but do not have the comfort and arch support. They do not flex well, easy to slip on,really not crazy about the styling and the fit is hard to judge with bunions but the toe is average for safety toes. I gave them 3 stars due to them saving my foot from what I believed was a impossible to stop injury, still couldn’t believe that the leather alone stopped the piercing hit,not even a scratch even though it missed the safety toes.

Best all around shoe I have ever worn
This is like my fifth pair of these. I wear the new ones to the office and move the current one to the farm outdoor work. They hold up well and have great soil support. The hard toe is nice to have around the farm machinery and horses. I really like the roomy toe space of these shoes.
