My husband always takes a 9.5, surprised these ran a little big as they came out of the box and even once the original insole was out and custom orthotic was put in (that hadn't happened before with previous brands of sneaker shoes), so tried with the padded insole back in on top of the orthotic. Fixed the fit issue and hubby says they are very comfortable that way.

Merrells rather than Hokas for base shoes.

I'm using these as Umpire base shoes. I wear Merrell Moab shoes every day and have always liked the fit and durability. I decided to try these out as base shoes because of the look and great traction. So far, after about 15 games, I like how they feel and how they clean up easily with just a water spray bottle and a cloth. Many of my Umpire friends have gone to Hokas, but I'll stay with my Merrells and be unique.
