Don't hesitate
There is a significant advantage to some of Merrell's products. First is construction. I have never been disappointed to purchase a pair. I have, however, been hesitant many times due to fit. I have found they run narrower than most shoes or boots and I always need the wide, even though I wear a standard 9D. Not a big deal, but they often don't offer what I want in that size. The second advantage to Merrell shoes is the materials they use. They don't skimp. For comparison, these I bought wanting a shorter tactical "shoe" rather than a boot. I needed a little more flexibility for areas or places of movement, I didn't get with a typical mid-high boot/shoe. I had purchased the UA Valsetz for mid-high and wanted something shorter and opted for these. I have no regrets and will buy a second color for uniform match. The materials are of such quality that the low in the Merrell outweighs the mid-high Under Armour by a good two ounces. This is primarily in the heavy-duty Vibram sole and the thick sidewall construction. Instantly felt great on my feet with superior arch support and ease of lacing. I could probably wear a liner sock as well, but they fit fine in the wide with just a standard thickness tactical calf-high sock. I am most definitely not only looking at the other color, but on the lookout for the mid-high for when my UA's wear out, which I know will be sooner than these. I highly recommend these for anyone who has serious all-day duty needs and only wants a low-fit shoe with boot durability. Excellent traction and flexibility make this the perfect duty shoe. Go higher up to the 8 inch high for any boot requirement. Fast sellers, so don't hesitate if your shopping for some serious shoes.Worth the extra money by far.

I'm rough on shoes and knees
Merrell makes tough shoes. I put in a 3-7 miles on concrete and pavement every day I also enter rooms where I have to step into a shallow disinfectant (quarter nary ammonium compounds). And, I throw them in the wash with bleach several times a year.I used to just by cheap shoes because my shoes die so quick there. But then it was 3 $30 pair a year, and my knees were not liking them (I have knee cartilage - or lack there of - issues) . I really liked the feel of my Keens but the soles are all various rubber parts glued together; they come apart in a few months. These were comfy, supportive and are still going a year later (sole is just starting to squeek a little on one shoe). I just bought another pair of Merrell because of the sales. Different style - but if they hold up as well, I'll be sold on Merrells.

Excellent Heavy Duty Tactical Shoe!
These shoes are fantastic! They're a good combination between athletic shoes and mid cut boots! The main thing I love about these is that, they're very comfortable to walk in off the beaten path! They're also great for situations where you need a reliable shoe that has good arch support! The toe box is fantastic and in my opinion just right! The width of the shoe to me isn't quite tight enough but, it's not bad! In my opinion, it's only downside is the weight! And in all honesty if you're going off the beaten path, you might be better off getting mid length boots from Merrell instead of getting shoes. Because the bad thing about these shoes is the fact that it's very easy in my opinion to roll an ankle once you start getting into more difficult terrain so, keep that in mind when choosing these shoes and if need be, get the mid cut length of these shoes rather than the low cut length depending on your needs.

Merrell Quality work shoe
In my law enforcement related field, I've transitioned from having to wear a typical work boot, to working a desk and needing something more comfortable. I've used Merrells on the mountains of Afghanistan, and in the mean streets of the Southeast, and I usually get a good 1-2 years out of most boots. Merrells have always seemed to last a while longer. They require no break in, and are good to go out of the box. The only issue I've had with these shoes is that the laces began to fray about a year into ownership, but I've since replaced them with a set of quick draw elastic laces and have managed to make the shoes even better now! I've had these now for a year and four months and the soles look like they have at least another year and four months of tread to go if not more!

Terrible shoe
This is the worst shoe I have ever had on my feet. Tried 3 different sizes & none of them fit me right. Foot is loose in each pair & toes are scrunched together even with a wide size. Arch is not in line with the foot. Plus the shoe is stiff as a board & does not flex when you walk. Don’t know if they used a human foot to size these up because they just don’t fit right. Never had this problem ever before especially with Merrill shoes. Unfortunately it’s too late to return. I guess this is what happens to companies that decide to have there products made overseas. The quality is no longer there. This is just one example of what is going on with this country. We have sold ourselves out.
