I'm very happy with this purchase. I was looking for a comfortable patrol shoe that looks like a boot so I tried these. Boy am I happy. Not only is it a great looking shoe but it truly is a wide shoe, if you order the wide! Not to mention these are very comfortable if you have to walk all night! I will not think twice about buying these again if I had too.
Size is spot on. Not too small not too big. Comfort and Fit are good. Initial quality is what I would expect from Merrell. Good traction.The leather appears to be a good quality and is exactly what I wanted in a waterproof shoe for work. I will have to update the review after a while to comment on the durability of the shoe.
I really l wanted these to be the answer to hours & hours & hours of trying to find good reviews on black restaurant style shoes for people working on the feet all day. Also had to be no-slip. Unfortunately these are Not the answer. The tread looks awesome, the quality of the leather & stitching looks great, but the bottom line is they are not comfortable and they aren't the non-slip that is stated: "Vibram TC5+ outsole provides exceptional traction" in the listing. Under the thin sole insert that comes with these is a very hard blocky structure. This means that all the enduring comfort is reliant on the very thin insoles. It's a shame. I believe if some kind of air suspension/cushion below the insole, would have made these perfect. 2 Stars is for the craftsmanship of the leather outer & heavy duty treads.

I use them for work and they are super comfortable and I feel very sure footed I love them !!!!
Love these shoes. Looks like and feels like a boot, but in shoe form. I work in a detention center and these shoes are perfect. Will buy again and again.
Bought this as a low-profile duty shoe.It's just junk. It's not a good looking shoe, it wears quickly and cracks. It also gets dirty easy and it's hard to clean.It's not a good duty shoe and I have no idea why hikers would want this so it's a pointless shoe. Do not buy!
