These shoes seemsDurable. The virbram bottom and goretex is what sold me on these . The fit is great. The toe box is wide like the Moab’s. I have wide feet and I didn’t have to buy a wide size. They are warm and comfortable. They are waterproof but I don’t know how waterproof. I only went hiking in these 1 time . I will hit the snow very soon so I hope they are good. I chose theseOver Altra and Hoka’s. I am a normal person who bought this for myself after researching a bunch of different hiking shoes. I wanted to try this cause it seems like the brand has been making an effort to step it up with new styles and colorways. Seems like the brand has finally listened to the customers and started making what the people wanted.

Merrell NAILED IT!!!
I have been wearing the standard style Moab for about the past twenty years as my every day shoe (I'm not a hiker) and obviously have bought many pairs, and they last for years.I was going to buy yet another pair and saw these Speed Moabs...and overall these are the best shoe ever! They are much lighter than the weight of the standard Moab and 'breath' much better. I even got a low-top version of them and the mix will be my everyday shoe for the next twenty years!They look great, and modern, and have a great grip to them. They are like a cross between a hiking shoe and a tennis shoe.
