Comfy boot, great traction, good waterproofing.
Fits as expected for Merrell which is tight at first but immediately starts to loosen up and fits just right. We had our first good snow in a while today - 6+ inches of very wet snow with ice. I was digging out the cars, shoveling the walk and driveway etc for 2+ hours with snow up over the top of the boots. My feet stayed dry, the traction was really quite excellent and I was quite comfortable (no soreness, ankles felt stable even when cracking thru drifts, etc). The boots were completely snow and ice encased when I finished which makes me the think the waterproofing is solid. The only drawback was my toes were quite cold by the end. These aren’t insulated models so that’s to be expected and not really fair to ask them to keep my feet toasty in these conditions (ice & snow encased, temps in the low teens). I like the good sized loop in the back to help pull them on and again really happy with the traction. Overall a very good buy and I would definitely by them again. If you need a boot to keep your feet toasty in extreme weather however, consider the Moab or other Merrell models with the GORE-TEX. These Alverstones are really quite good and I have no regrets.

Comfortable for all-day wear!
I bought these shoes for trail hiking in the Scottish highlands and was not disappointed. They are supportive and comfortable enough to wear all day. Although I did wear them a few times before my trip, I felt they fit well from the start and didn't really need a "break-in period" like some shoes do. I did not get any hot spots or soreness on my feet and I didn't feel the need to add insoles. These fit quite well (true to size) and I like that they are a bit higher than normal shoes for a little extra ankle support. They seem to be well-constructed from quality materials and I had no issues with them at all throughout the entire trip. I look forward to many more hiking adventures in these shoes!

Very happy hiking feet!
I have to admit these are really nice fitting hiking boots. I wear a 11 size regular width shoes and these Merrell's fits great. I wanted a boot to give me some ankle support and wanted a mid-height (just below the ankle) light weight hiking boots. I ordered a Columbia Mid hiking boot, but they were a bit too narrow, so I returned them. I love my Skechers Relment-Traven boots but they're a bit heavy for summer hiking and wanted a pair for summer hikes. Found these pair of Merrell and I am very happy with them. They fit right out of the box, enough room for my toes. Been on several hikes now...some very rocky ups and downs trails and very comfortable (no blisters) and holding up well...so far. I recommend these boots.

Extremely good boots.
These are some of the best boots I've ever owned. I've had several different Merrell boots but these are the most comfortable pair I've owned. I bought them as an everyday boot but I ended up wearing them as work boots as well. They are very lightweight and breathable even though they are waterproof. They are very easy to clean as well. I once wore them while working security at a rodeo and they got covered in dust and dirt. The next day I took them outside and just rinsed the dirt off with the garden hose. They are also some of the most stable boots I worn. The grip they maintain on wet terrain is amazing. I definitely recommend these.

Nice Shoes!
Bought these shoes for an offroad event our local 4x4 club was putting on at Catahoula Recreation Park in Louisiana back in November.Sorry, but I have to put a plug in for it...the event is called Louisiana Club Challenge or LCC and we usually have it in November. It's a fund raiser for St. Judes Children Hospital where any 4x4 club is invited and like the name suggests their are challenges. There are different types of races from stock to hill climbers. There's lots of trails, hills, rocks, mud, water, you name it. There are vendors that provide items for raffles, there are items to buy, etc. and all of the proceeds go to St. Jude's! We raised over $12000 this time but could always use more! So pass the word if you know anyone or any vendor who might be interested! Look up the Facebook page or IG.Anyway, like I said there are lots of hills, rocks, mud, water, etc. and the temps got down to about 34deg F. I had not worn the shoes in before we left but they were very comfortable, handled everything very well and kept my feet warm but appear they'll still be breathable in hotter months. Did not get a chance to put them through a really good water test but the little I did they were fine. The quality seems good and so far I really like them. I'm also glad I bought the mid height. It's a good compromise for all seasons and conditions.
