These shoes are a great choice for mild winters like we have in Arkansas. They keep my son's feet warm when it's a bit too chilly for sneakers. They're true to size, though I went a bit bigger and he still finds them comfortable. They're waterproof (or at least resist getting wet for a good time). Not the lightest shoes, but not bulky either. My son (now 5 but wearing them since he was 4) loves running and climbing in them at the playground. A big plus is that he can easily put them on and take them off by himself. They haven't gotten smelly either, which is plus. I got them on sale and was very happy with the price. I'd definitely consider buying another pair in the future.
Worth the price because they last. My son is a typical boy who does all the crazy things with shoes - climbs trees, plays soccer, jumps in mud....these shoes are still in great condition so i'm Ok with the higher price, The last - they didn't wore out or fell apart, nothing peals or have a hole in them like cheaper shoes often do. I'll stick with merrell in the future because the ones we got from Target fell apart in 2 months. I'm willing to pay double or more no problem for shoes which are comfy and sole doesnt have hole in it in month or three. Thanks Merrell for making good quality kids shoes. We went hiking in Yosemite, got soaked on Mist trail and shoes dried pretty quickly too. great hiking shoes or everyday use
We bought these for our son, who is very active and can wear out shoes quickly. So far, these are holding up very well! He's a size 13 - that awkward in-between size from little kid to big kid sizes - and it's surprisingly hard to find good shoes in his size. These fit perfectly. They're great for playing, but they also look nice enough to wear for events. We'll be looking to buy a second pair!
I have a 2yo that hikes and bikes a decent bit. I wanted some shoes with a actual grip vs the flat foam soles that are used in many toddler shoes. These have rubber soles and actual lugs. My complaint is that they're a little on the heavy side and definitely on the stiff side. With the light weight toddlers, flexibility and helps a lot with grip and maneuverability, and lightweight is always preferred. All in all these shoes are maybe a wash in terms of grip + hiking performance vs his older shoes. build-wise these are sturdy and seem to be holding up well.
We always buy from this brand because of the good quality and durability. They are comfortable and fit well. Also we like the nice designs.
Super comfy shoes! My kid can walk long distances without getting tired. We love them so much we bought a few more pairs!
