These boots are exactly what you would expect from this brand. They are stylish, durable and comfortable. The craftnanship in this boot is amazing, from the laces and eyeholes to the stiching and tread. We went hiking though slippery rocks in the river. My daughter was able to keep her footing and her feet dry. The boots are true to size and a great value!
I ended up returning these because my son ended up not like the color of red on the shoe, he thought it looked more like a dark pink. However, they seemed to be a very durable, high quality shoe.
My daughter was a huge fan of these boots. They took no time at all to "break in" because they were instantly comfortable for her and she wore them all day everyday for a week straight at an outdoor camp. And she had no blisters, no complaints, and no discomfort or issues. Laces stay well with single or double knot and the availability for a wider sole is absolutely the highlight of this brand. I am so grateful and happy these were available and how much my kiddo loved them. They are cute and functional and extremely true to size guide on the listing.
I continue to go back to Merrell for my son's shoes every time for school. After he'd had a couple of falls at school, I did a ton of research into shoes and how they're made. The goal? Find the absolute best build out there for overall surface grip and traction for both indoor and outdoor surfaces, durability/toughness, precise fit. Time and again, the best solution came up as Merrell's Moab 3 model in specifically (I'd scrutinize for hours/days the bottoms of shoes of various brands and makes). There's a good reason, if you look at indoor traction for shoes, you find it's similar to a car; smaller, tighter tread is best for flat, slick surfaces while larger, varied tread is best for outdoor or all-terrain surfaces. A few shoes do this o.k. but none do it as well as these do. The first pair we got were this style in the low top, but then we moved to these mid-tops for more ankle support. I can't say enough. This is my 3rd pair for him and after all year at school and still now they are still in excellent shape and look great. The first two pair were also like that, durability was a solid check. No slips at all for all 3 pair, safety was a solid check. No metal clasp loss, no problems whatsoever on any of his past pairs or this pair. Merrell shoes are 10/10 shoes. I rarely leave reviews. In this case, I'm compelled to do so as a "thank you" for Merrell's dedication to a scientifically solid build, very reliable, SAFE build, nice looking. Thank you! Keep up the superb work, it's needed. Oh, and, this year I even got a Men's pair of Moab 3's for myself. Super comfy but feel incredibly secure (As a martial artist, this is nice. Traction is also a bonus).
My 9 year old daughter wears a 5&1/2 to 6. She typically wears a wide in other brands, especially in the toe box area. I took a chance and ordered these in the regular width size 6 since the wide isn't offered. They fit her great! I love that they're reasonably priced for a waterproof hiker and have good tread.
These are great! Got these shoes for my 10 year old son. They are great for traction on rocky, slippery terrain. He loves them. They kept his feet dry. And he didn't slid or slip around on our hikes this summer. They fit as expected, true to size. The shoes are holding up well!
Excellent! true to size. It's so hard to find shoes that fit my son's wide feet since they closed all the Stride Rite locations. Now that he's in big boy shoes transitioning into adult sizes its becoming even more of a struggle. I really needed to get him some sturdy hiking boots for this summer so I started early and oh boy am I already done?? they are very good quality and I can tell they are going to last the whole season for once! My son is active and very rough on his shoes but the thick soles are going to be able to handle it and I'm not scared he's going to slip in these when we aren't on the path! Highly recommend for your rough active kids!
