Built for the Trail and the Playground
Anyone who knows Merrell, knows they are a really high quality outdoors company. I have owned a few of their items before and currently use a pair of hiking boots made by them regularly. These kid's hiking shoes are no exception to their normal high end standards.The first thing my daughter loves about these is the vibrant bright colors that are used. She loves the pink and green together and wears them proudly with all outfits. She also commented immediately on how comfortable the fit is, and I believe her from feeling them. We bought her normal size 12.5 and it fits with just the right amount of toe space. The inside is very soft but supportive and has great flexibility. The padding around the ankle hugs softly when laced. The insole is forgiving but firm as well.I really like the durability of these shoes. You can tell they are built to take the trail and the beating that comes with it. She probably wont see many trails, but these will surely handle the playground with ease. The grip is really good on most surfaces. Grass, and path like surfaces it excels in. It is also really good on gritty surfaces like concrete and asphalt. The only time i have seen her slip is on a wet floor that is a smooth surface. But even here only the best non slip soles would hold tight.These shoes are really good for wet days as well. They are not waterproof, but they do shed more water than the typical sneaker.You may pay a higher price for these shoes, but from what I have seen out of them they are worth it. Built to last, comfortable, and super cute. These Merrell hiking shoes are great both on the trail and the playground.

Comfy and stylish
I got these Merrell hiking shoes in a size 1 for my daughter. They fit her perfectly so I would say that they are true to size. I liked that the shoes are bright and colorful just like the online picture. They are also very comfortable on. She has had these a number of months now and worn them without any issue so I would say that they are durable overall I’m pleased with the quality of these sandals. I like that the hiking shoes are stylish and velcro easily. They are great quality and value foe the money.

Good Design but Too Narrow
These shoes are well-made with flexible soles and a design that looks nice. The quality of the materials feels solid, and the closure makes them easy to adjust. However, they run narrow and the low bridge makes them tight for some foot shapes. They may be comfortable for slimmer feet but not ideal for everyone. I do have to say they have great grip.

Excellent quality hiking shoes
We go hiking frequently with our kiddos and having good quality hiking shoes is definitely a priority for us. These shoes from Merrill do not let us down. They are crazy vibrant with an array of colors making them super fun for the kids, and definitely makes them stand out in the woods. They feature bungee type lacing with a velcro strap at the top making it easy to put on and take off and tighten if needed. The bottoms are the most important feature, they are nice thick soles with good tread, allowing for good grip on uneven/unpaved surfaces. They aren't waterproof but they are pretty good at keeping out most moisture. They are soft and comfortable on the inside and great for long trekking without causing blisters on pain. They so far have been extremely durable and withstood any terrain we navigate on. I am hoping they outlast my child's growing feet. Excellent value, fantastic quality, highly recommend.
