True to size
I had a pair of these in a tan color which I bought about 5 years ago at a local retailer which no longer carries this style. At the time I walked on pavement and didn’t need the heavier tread on the bottom but still liked the way they fit without being broken in! Three years ago we built a house in the country and I now walk 3+ miles every day on gravel and I was wearing out my Sketches too quickly so I started wearing my Merrill’s. I put in about a thousand miles walking in them before I wore them out. so happy to find Amazon still has this exact shoe even though it’s a different color. It fits exactly like my old shoe which I was pleasantly surprised about since so often you reorder something several years later and find they have changed sizing. Just ordered another pair for backup when I wear this pair out! Happy trails for all the walkers out there!

Fit is true
I bought this shoe for comfort when walking. So far, I can not complain. It is true to size. I have no room for a thick sock. I often don't wear socks anyway. Padding is nice. The shoe is breathable. I do not slip on smooth surfaces in these shoes. I am breaking them in now before I wear them on our next trip to Disney World. That will be the true test.

Weird discoloration
What is that weird greenish discoloration? There's also white spots on it too. I'm wondering if they were stored in a damp dark place before shipping....
