Very comfortable. Warm, nice looking, good walking shoes. Not skimpy-sized. I wear an 8.5 and sometimes have to buy 9s but these fit me perfectly at 8.5. Luckily I was able to try them on before I ordered online. Have two pair.
When I first tried to put my foot in the shoes, it felt very tight and I wasn't sure that I could get them on. However, what I found was that the material surrounding the shoe opening was stiffer than the many other Merrell's that I own. That's the only reason I gave it four, rather than 5 stars. Once I pushed my foot all the way in, the shoes were just as comfortable as all the others. At first I only wore them in the house for a few hours, just in case I wanted to return them. They felt so good, I wore them the rest of the day and into the evening. Putting them on was easier the next time. So, I imagine it will loosen further over time. Despite reading reviews that said the shoes ran small, I ordered my regular 7 1/2 M. I would definitely recommend them.
As with all Merrell shoes I have purchased in the past, these are exceptional. They fit perfectly, are comfortable, warm, waterproof and much less bulky than wearing a boot. The traction on the bottom is also exceptional. I feel very comfortable and secure when wearing these.
What a wonderful shoe! I wear them wth lightweight wool Carhardt socks and they feel like gloves. The walls are thick so they should be warm without heavier socks. The tread is deep and rolls up the heel. We haven't gotten into the ice and snow yet, but I have high hopes that these will get me through the days of shoveling I know are coming soon.
I have had to return another pair of winter merrell shoes. After trying 2 sizes of Polarand roves and one of the Dewbrook mocs, I could not make any of them work for me, which is really sad as both styles have the winter qualities I was looking for. There seemed to be no arch support in either style, the fit in 7.5 as too big, and in 7 just not right. I have had numerous Jundle mocs that worked for years for me, but can't seem to find new Merrell style that is comfortable.
This is the third pair of these shoes I've had. You'd think I'd learn my lesson. I walk my dog for miles every day, in Michigan weather, so I need something that is waterproof and comfortable. I bought my first pair of these Dewbrook Mocs a few years ago, after Keen stopped making the shoes I wore into the ground. The Dewbrook Mocs were super comfortable, but sprung a "leak" in the left foot about six months after I bought them. I still wore them for a long time, but if it was wet out, my left foot and the inside of the shoe would be soaked. Because I found no other shoes that fit what I needed, I bought a new pair of Dewbook Mocs last fall. I wore them around the house for a few days, and found that something was made differently in the back of the shoe - it was like a hard piece of cardboard stopped near the top of the shoes; under the sleeve around the collar, and it dug into my heels, causing horrible blisters (after just a short period of wear time!). I returned them to the store, then hoping it was a fluke, ordered a pair through Amazon. These seemed better while worn around the house, then I walked in them! They are just as bad as the pair I returned, and of course, I cannot return them now, since I wore them outdoors. Very disappointed and disgusted. I have worn various Merrill shoes over the years, and feel as thought their quality has really slipped. I saw today that Keen has just released a new waterproof shoe for women, and I've ordered a pair. I won't be buying Merrill again.
I really like Merrells and have owned several different types, all comfy, all size 7, but I found the Dewbrook very narrow and not at all comfortable. I'll be sending them back. Otherwise they are of typical merrell high quality.
