Best boot for my work

Size: I buy a size 6 because I have to put my orthotic inside.Color: I am so ecstatic that I found this color. It is exactly what I need for work shoes. I hope Merrell continues to make this color. I know I will have to purchase another pair at some point in my career working at a zoo.Comfort: There is no breaking in period for these boots. I put them on and they are super comfortable. I can wear these all day for work. Great for walking on uneven surfaces and standing for prolonged periods.Support: The mid height gives enough support for my ankles. I tried to use the lower height version and I didn't like it at all. I felt I would sprain my ankle easily.Price: It is worth paying for a boot that I know I am going to use everyday.Overall: These are the only boots that fit well, durable, comfortable, worth the price and last a long time. I use these boots everyday for work. They have excellent traction, so I will not slip. Also, my feet don't get hot on extremely hot days at the zoo. These boots are not waterproof. However, I have purchased the waterproof version of this boot before and it lasted 7 years. I definitely put a lot of hiking miles on them. It was definitely worth the money.

These Are Great!

I wear an 8, 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe. The instructions say these are true to usual shoe size so I looked at my shoes - skechers size 8.5 and got that size in wide and they fit well out of the box. They are heavier than what I am used to but hold my foot and ankle in place very well without pinching. These were more than I usually spend but well worth it for shoes that were comfortable from the get go. The cushioning could be a bit more on the inside but overall, I'm impressed.Update: After wearing them hiking all over Wyoming, I have to say they were fantastic! They really didn't need much breaking in - which I did do wearing them nightly for a week before my trip. On my trip they were comfortable in every way. They held my ankle in place and they never pinched anywhere. When I was done wearing them for the day, they were easily removed and held up perfectly! I am now a huge fan of Merrell and recommend them to anyone who has feet that are a bit wider than usual. Awesome shoes! By the way - they still look new.

Cool and comfy

Working in a garden center I need good footwear. I have a good pair of waterproof hiking boots from LL Bean that I Iove, great in winter, but have found them too hot to wear in the summer. I searched for summer-weight boots and found these.I use custom insoles, these boots accommodate them easily. I wear wide width so it can be hit or miss for me buying shoes online, but these fit perfectly. They are supportive but extremely lightweight. In fact when the package arrived I picked up the box and thought it was way too light to have hiking boots inside! They probably a bit too lightweight for hiking on uneven rocky terrain, but for my purposes, walking gravel paths and plant beds they are just fine.Very breathable. I have worn them through a very hot summer now and they keep my feet comfortable and not at all sweaty. Would buy again!

foot and leg pain from shin splints and plantar fasciits and support for loose joints of ankles

My shin splints and plantar fasciitis has gotten so bad. I've been miserable. I have loose joints and my ankles roll both ways causing falls and pain. I tried my MD personal mold insoles, but they are hard. Bought some new recommended ones and they couldn't fit properly because I wear the Merrel slip into shoes. My ankles need support terribly and after looking all week for the right shoe, I found these Moab 2. The fit very well even over my own insoles and lift for the shorter leg. Very comfortable for a first time wear. I'm you have plenty of room for thick socks. For my sore feet they arent cushioned enough but with the insoles they feel really good. This is the first time I've worn high tops in 40 years. The pain is still present but not as severe and I think with time these will really help with the rolling ankles and offer support needed. I love the look and color much more than I thought I would and they look more feminine on than the pic . I will update this review in a few weeks to months. I am giving 4 stars since brand new and idk what will happen. The insoles are good with good heel cushion and decent arch if you dont have problems with feet. These are not very thick or cushioned if you need them to be and I chose to remove and add my own. I can add these on top of my own. There is plenty of room.

Excellent hiking boots

Bought these at the last minute when I realized that I didn’t have a pair of reliable hiking boots. I typically wear a 10W-10.5-10.5W. I purchased these in a 10W, 10.5W, and 11W (thanks Amazon!), and found that the 10.5W fit perfectly. I have the beginnings of bunions and these were very comfortable and gave my toes plenty of room. I was able to wear these throughout my 6-7 hr Shenandoah hike without any breaking in. It rained the first night while we were setting up our tents and I had no leakage even though these aren’t supposed to be waterproof. The next day these kept my feet dry and comfortable until we had to ford a knee-high flooded stream and I had to fully submerge them. After I squeezed a lot of the water out they were still great to continue hiking in. The tread was very grippy and I never slipped over the wet rocks. I was exhausted at the end of the day but my feet were not the issue. I haven’t hiked in them since that weekend but if I have ruined them I would not hesitate to buy them again. These are great!!
