Seems durable; good value
Other reviewers suggested buying one size larger than normal, which I did, and the boots fit great! My challenge was finding a affordable boots that are also sturdy. These boots are both. Understand that I am a recreational hiker, not hard-core, so please interpret this review accordingly. The Merrell MOAB is lightweight and comfortable. It was helpful to wear the boots for a few days to break them in a bit before wearing them outdoors. I wore them for a weekend survival class in Eastern Kentucky at the end of October 2024, and again for a full day (3.5 to 4 miles) of hiking in Kentucky's rugged and beautiful Red River Gorge in November 2024. The boots provided excellent foot support; the lugs managed the rugged terrain without slipping. Although tired after hiking, my feet were not sore nor blistered. I wore wool hiking socks with the boots; boots were breathable, not sweaty. So far, no hikes have taken me through puddles or creeks, so I cannot assess water resistance. Highly recommend these boots.

Best hiking boot ever!
This boot is the most comfortablre hiking boot I have worn. I am repeat buyer, as I have tried many other brands usually more expensive but I always go back to Merrill. I am an avid birder, over 60, hiking about 20 miles a week in total. This boot is waterproof, breathable and excellent support for long periods of standing in the field when birding. They usually last me about 6-8 months. Love my Merrills!

Returned pair
I ordered a new pair of women's Merrell Moab3 GTX mid height shoes. What I got was a returned pair of shoes with cat hair all over them and inside of them. There was no stuffed paper inside no were they in the original box. The box they came in was a generic box with message that the original was damaged in transport. The shoes were fine once I cleaned the cat hair from them so I kept them. The shoes are great, very comfortable and padded. They seem to be very high quality construction. I really like them. I just wish the seller would be more honest tell us that they are returns and at least clean the cat hair off. I gave only 4 stars because of the deception of the seller. The shoes are absolutely a 5 star.

If you overpronate and need arch support, these are the boots for you. I still need special insoles, but the construction of these shoes provides amazing support. They fit great out of the box and are supportive and comfortable.
