Best Hiking Shoes Ever

After considering the other popular Merrell hiking boots, I decided to buy these because they are highly rated for durability on moderate to intense hiking trails and have a clean modern design that I like. They're a lot lighter than expected, which is a big plus for me because I do not like to wear boots that weigh down during my hikes that are already tiring to traverse. I got these when they were on a limited time discount, so it's definitely worth the wait to same some extra money. It fits perfectly—I'm a 8.5 and these are true to size. They are comfortable to wear and they do not make your feet too hot or sweaty, so these shoes have good breathability. There is some GORE-Tex tech around the bottom-mid section of the shoes, so you don't have to worry about water seeping in. It has good arch support and the sole and lugs are thick enough to withstand most rocky terrains, making my hikes as comfortable and smooth as possible. One notice: Make sure to have the tongue sit properly against your foot, or it could dig in and make your hikes uncomfortable. After adjusting the tongue to sit flat against the top of my foot, I've had no other issues or pain since. This was just an adjustment on my end, not the product itself. Overall, I highly recommend these and they are absolutely worth the money.

So Comfy, Sturdy, and Stylish

These Merrell Women's Speed Strike 2 Mid waterproof hiking boots have made my hiking dreams come true. I just started hiking three years ago, and at that time, I found a fabulous pair of Merrell hiking boots at a deep clearance sale. I wore these every day for hikes, and they still look pretty good, but the traction isn't up to par. I still use them for some hikes, but I am enthralled with my new boots. These new ones are much cuter with a better color, in my opinion. I had tried on other brands but wasn't nearly as impressed, so I figured, why not go back to the brand I loved in the first place? These boots are durable and can handle even treacherous hiking with rock climbing sections included. They are warm when needed, but don't overheat my feet when it's warmer outside. I like that they are fairly lightweight, and I don't feel like my feet are lifting weights. These are waterproof, but I haven't actually walked through a creek to tell for sure. I will say, my feet have never felt wet so far. These are so comfy, and I never feel that my feet are hurting or sore in any way. I think these will last me a long time, but when they need replacing, I would get the exact same brand and style. I love these!

Best hiking boots ever!

So comfy! They felt like clouds on my feet. I wore them in Hawaii for all my hikes. I didn't need to break them in at all. My feet were fine and comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend!

I ordered several major competitors, these were the only choice for me!

Ok, so I went a little shoe (hiking boot/shoe) crazy lately. The goal was to get a pair for walking in the Fall weather, you know, leaves, wet, etc., and a pair for when it got colder (for when it is more fashionable to be wearing warmer footwear) and some light snow etc. I needed GOOD GRIP and because of previous ankle injuries, GOOD ANKLE SUPPORT.I ended up buying about 5-8 different boots/shoes to compare. I would be spokesperson for these boot/shoes if I could. They are excellent in every way. (Now, I have not hiked yet, but just putting them on at home my feet feel very secure.) I like the height, my toes fit well, they are just the right amount of snug and I LOVE the color and overall design. These boots will will be staying with me. (I have a really old pair, really old, purchased in Banff, Alberta so I know the brand. I loved those boots then, and I will love these now. These ones don't feel as rugged as the old ones, but it's different material, sole, overall design etc. One thing that is exception is the non-slip design. I think they have some breaking built in. I'm happy as I really don't want to slip. So out of the group, and yes I ordered major competitors, these were the only choice for me. I got the steel blue color. Swank.

Perfect for looking good while hiking

These are sooo comfy. I wanted a hiking boot that was light weight, didn't look so rugged, and would be very functional for my vacation that included plenty of long hikes over rough terrain. This was it! It is very light weight with a cushy sole and waterproof too. I dont know why women's hiking boots/shoes are either mousey ugly colors or ostentatious bright colors, but the dark color of this boot perfectly matches my outfits. Merrell for the win.

Comfortable and good waterproofing

I took these all over Iceland and they held up beautifully. They broke in fairly quickly. Wore this for a 4 day intensive hike and I swapped my shoes last minute so did not have time to properly break them in. Overall, pretty comfortable and waterproofing held up. Day 4 of the hike I did develop blisters. I have wide feet and while this has fairly wide toe box, I did end up with some blisters on my pinky toes. I suspect if I had more time to break them in, this might not have happened. Overall happy and they breathed pretty good for waterproof boots!
