Wide Toe, Miminal Shoe is Perfect and the Price is Awesome!
So Lightweight!So Comfortable!Wide Toe Box for comfortable toes!Very minimal (almost barefoot) shoe that makes my feet happy! I wear them almost every day.Warning! They are very thin and the arch support is really barely there. These are only appropriate for people who love to go barefoot and hate wearing shoes. Your feet will stay clean and protected, but you won't get much support and in the winter your feet might get cold.These are about half the price of similar shoes, so it is a good bargain for people who want that minimal feel.

Fantastic first impression!
My shoes just arrived, and I skipped the right on immediately.First impression: whoa! These are amazing!I was looking for a low profile, lightweight, zero drop running shoe with a large tow box.This shoe fits every single piece of what I was looking for .. it's really better than I expected, and I had high expectations.They feel like a foot hug, I feel like my foot it protected from sharp objects, but still has good proprioceptive feedback from the ground. I love the flexibility of the wide toe box. My toes can spread I'm out and work like toes should, and I still have a ton of ability to flex and point all the way through my ankle, foot and toes. They remind me a lot of my split-sole tap shoes!I'm so stoked to wear them and see how they function and hold up, but my the first impression is perfection!

Not barefoot and not for wide feet
So this product shows up when you search for barefoot shoes, but no, they are not barefoot. They are rather comfortable I must say, but you can definitely feel the arch in the sole when you put them on. Also, these shoes are not for anyone with wide feet. The shoe itself is very soft and will expand somewhat to fit your foot, but you will be standing on a narrow piece of sole and that arch definitely doesn't make it any more comfortable. I returned them because they weren't a good fit for my fat feet ):

Definitely barefoot feel but needs work on sole durability
I had a pair of these barefoot shoes over 10 years ago and they were immensely comfortable, lightweight, and durable. I misplaced them in a move, and recently determined I needed another pair because I was starting to have knee and hip pain during my fitness walks, and I know zero drop shoes have been helpful in balancing out my body while walking which helped alleviate my pain in the past. Today’s shoes have the same structure and comfort and style, but that’s where the comparison ends for me. I had to size up a half size to get a comfortable fit with very thin socks. I switch between a black pair and a pink pair I purchased at the same time to walk 3 miles a day on a golf cart trail 5 days a week. Both pairs of these shoes are wearing out quickly on the soles. That fact is especially so on the black pair. The soles seem to be made of a very stiff rubber, which becomes extremely slippery on wet, smoother surfaces (think moss and leaves on concrete), and the “nubs” on the surface have already worn all the way down on my pressure contact points in only a few months of wear. I am disappointed in that result, but I love the fit once I realized I needed to go up a half size…maybe even a full size for a tiny bit thicker sock for colder weather. I also love they are true “feel the road” shoes while walking. I do have to be cautious around rocky surfaces, so I don’t end up with rock bruises on the soles of my feet, but I expect that in barefoot shoes. I also love that my gait while walking in these shoes is nice and smooth, and I feel very little pain in my joints while walking. I do wish the sole was made of a more resilient rubber material, so they wouldn’t wear out so quickly and would have a little more grip on smoother surfaces. The sole actually feels like hard plastic vs. hard rubber. They are NOT safe on tiled kitchen floors that may be damp from moisture in the air for sure, but after realizing that while volunteering in a kitchen, I just made sure I wore something else for future kitchen work. I’ll continue to wear these shoes on my walks as they are amazingly comfortable, but when they wear out (and they are quickly headed in that direction), I’ll be looking at something else to replace them. The ONLY shoes I wear (nearly)
I got my first pair in August 2016, and, except for my desert boots, which I wear in the snow, vapor glove 3 is the only closed shoe I wear.The mesh shoes are great for most of the time and breathe wonderfully, but I was so excited when I discovered the Luna Leather model. Those are for "dressier" occasions. I have gone through the mesh shoes at a rate of one pair per year, but I may not put as many miles on mine as others do. I am a professional desk jockey.These are shoes for feet that support themselves, so if you've been wearing shoes with arch support for a long time, you would want to transition a little carefully to give your arch muscles time to get stronger.The Vibram sole is so flexible it allows your feet to grip any surface (except ice; use extreme caution on ice).The mesh shoes can be worn in water and will dry quickly, so great for hiking.don't like lacing shoes, so I also ordered elastic laces for the mesh and black leather pairs. It was an inspiration.I hope Merrell keeps making this model.Full disclosure: In the summer, my feet like to see the sun, and I don't like getting tan lines around my ankles, so I spend a lot of time wearing Xero Shoes huarache style sandals, which also have a super flexible Vibram sole.
