Look narrow, but fit well for Medium-width
I live in Aspen, Colorado and during the winter I must walk 3-blocks on sidewalks and cross 3 streets to catch a public bus to my job at our ski area.I've had an older pair of these Merrell waterproof slip-on shoes in black for 5 years now. They are warm, comfortable to wear even when I'm inside working and walking on thin carpet, cement, rubber mats or linoleum (though no sole can protect totally against slipping on wet linoleum). They're definitely waterproof (unless I try to walk through snow 4" or more deep - these are mocs, not boots), and definitely non-slip on fresh snow, hard-packed snow, and an ice/snow mix on sidewalks and streets. I attach 'Yaktrax Pro' cleats on them when it's very icy outside, as even these soles won't counteract solid, slippery ice like a 'cleat'-style sole.I decided to purchase a second pair in the brown 'Cinnamon' color to add to my winter shoe wardrobe, and to wear when I travel in Scotland next year. Though they have a slightly different appearance, and the toebox appears 'narrow' (the photos are deceiving) they still fit my medium-width feet well, even with thicker wool socks on. When new, the leather appears a darker brown than the photos show, but as I wear them and the leather softens the lighter 'cinnamon' color becomes more predominant. A nice change from my black pair.I highly recommend these slip-on mocs for anyone who experiences winter weather, or will be traveling to a rainy country like Iceland, Scotland or Ireland. They don't have the appearance of a lowcut hiking shoe, so are a nice, dressier option when I'm in cities (not just hiking on trails or visiting farms).

Durable & comfortable
These are my go to shoes. I’m on my fourth pair. I work in the OR and need a shoe that’s completely covered, protective, wipeable and of course comfortable and supportive. They are easy to slip on and off.The shoe has a firm/ stable footbed. Not so soft were your foot feels like it’s walking on marshmallows, causing your foot to roll side to side.It’s also not so thin where walking on the hard concrete floor would cause pain and fatigue to shoot up your foot.I walk a lot in these and they have help ease my plantar fasciitis problem. My self care and these shoes have helped them. Everytime I wear the shoe passed it’s @comfort” level the pain creeps back. I try to stay ahead now with an extra pair ready to switch out.These will last based on your activity level.This pass year my average Steps at work has been 10,578. I’ve gone thru 2 pairs.All the previous years my daily average was 5,000 and they lasted a year.

Liked the quality and style. For my fit, much too snug to get into/out of easily. Once on, fit is very good though a bit to high/tight around the heel for me. Good product .... siply doesn't work for me.

Best Winter Shoes Ever!
I hate to wear boots, I walk a lot and I'm 78 so there's always a fear of slipping in snow and ice. Not this year though. My feet slip easily into these attractive go-anywhere shoes, provide comfort and support for walking and the grippy sole allows me walk with confidence. I hate socks so I don't wear them even when it's cold and snowy. I slip on a pair of peds and slide my feet into these shoes and walk through snow with dry toasty dry feet. I've worn them everyday since they arrived through rain, snow, ice, dog parks and they show no wear at all. They are attractive enough to wear with anything and anywhere. I need to buy 2 more pair before somebody changes them so I 'm sure to have these shoes for life.

Great for walking on ice
I needed a winter performance shoe that was tame enough to wear with slacks to the office. This shoe is cleanly designed and doesn't call attention to itself. The little peek of purple is kind of cute. Mainly though, I can walk across the parking lot without breaking a hip. The sole provides great traction outdoors. About the fit: my food measures 9.5 but because large shoes are often mis-sized, I often end up having to go for a size 11, which then are too wide. I ordered this in a 10 because I know Merrells are true to size. At first I thought they were small and would have to return them, but they quickly molded to my foot and fit very well. A great, steady shoe - perfect when loafers are not enough but sport shoes are too much.

Handsome and comfortable
Handsome and comfortable shoes. Fit true to size but snug at first - leather is soft and breaks-in to fit like a glove. Taking-walks and standing and going-shopping shoes, not for running or hiking. I don’t need them for ice or snow. This is my second pair, I wanted them in black. They are cut a little lower at sides and heel from my older version, which doesn’t feel different to me and is a little more attractive. They look “mannish” to me looking down on them but 360 view is of handsome and comfortable shoes!

Exchanging for better fit is a NIGHTMARE!
Purchased a pair for my husband last year, he loved them so decided I needed a pair. The Mocs are good quality and appropriate for wet fall/winter weather, however, exchanges for a different width is virtually IMPOSSIBLE (I am usually a 10 medium but these were tight, so I thought a wide would be better)—what a hassle doing this through Amazon - they do not make it easy to exchange anything so I started a return thinking I’ll just go back to site to buy the right width but was driven to a higher-priced Moc and could NOT select size/width. Was told by seller to “Cancel” return (spent too much time discovering how to do that). Bottom line, great Moc for fall/winter weather IF you can get the right size. I’ll update review if this is resolved.
