Comfort and quality

Just received these hiking shoes, tried them on and they feel great! Very impressed with the quality and fit. True to size and has great arch support. I highly recommend this shoe for hiking or working or casual wear. The exterior shoe design and color choices are flattering also. Overall very happy with purchase.

Great shoe

Great shoe! Fits true to size. Very comfortable. I ordered Olive color. It's a bit greener than I expected but I like it.

Hardy and well crafted.

I've been testing these since 2019.They are near indestructible. No rips, wear spots, or mishaps encountered. Excellent knobby tread that has superb traction. In fact, these shoes have the best traction out of any pair of shoes I've ever owned. They are fairly thin soles, and I can 'feel the terrain' through them- while still being very stiff and protective. Seeing as they are a hiking shoe, I feel this is important to note.Arch support is respectable, and i have also noticed there is excellent protection from the foot rocking inward. The shoes have held their shape excellent and never required a break in period. My boyfriend wears them occasionally and they fit him great too. He can't feel any sort of impression where my feet naturally sit in the shoe. They are just as comfortable to him as they are to me.I wear these on hikes but also wear them to work occasionally as they breathe excellent. Whereas- my work boots do not. They are not meant for standing on concrete all day, and i find my feet a little extra sensitive by the days end.I also have very sweaty feet and my shoes tend to develop odor quickly. I was surprised at how resistant these have been to smell and have washed them a handful of times to assist with that.I only fault these shoes for a modest toe box. I have average width feet, however as a 'hiker shoe' I wish these allowed my toes to fully expand when flexed. Im not crowded in them per say, but I wish a wide width was available. I do overall enjoy them and would recommend! True to size, and I almost never get it right the first try!

Comfortable from day 1!

Wore these for the first time on a pretty intense hike in Colorado and they were perfect! Continued to wear them all week as I hiked through the Rockies and experienced no blisters or discomfort at all!

Merrill hiking shoes

Good fit, good support, but I had to use an extra sole, slightly firm under the foot. Great hiking and walking.

I normally love merrell, they fit well and are usually very comfortable

I’ve already owned a few Merrills and have liked them a lot; they fit well, quality materials, but this has been strange because the shoe size 11 which i normally wear, and is a bit big for me but I need the length, is very wide in the toes. 10 1/2 didn’t quite fit which I thought would, was wide in the toes too, and for all the Merrell shoes I’ve ever worn or tried on this is the most uncomfortable foot bed they’ve ever put in a shoe. It’s the insert and it’s hard! What’s strange is that the last shoe I ordered was actually leather and this one looks like it was punched out of artificial material and it also doesn’t say leather on the label anymore? What’s that about? I love the tread, and color, but they don’t run large like everyone said, but wide. Amazon charges manipulated pricing which makes shopping with them less desirable but the ordering and returns work nicely. I decided for the money to go waterproof esp. after reading you cannot waterproof the material yourself. So I ordered brindle and, the 11 fits much smaller, but might still work. I have to change out the inserts, ( hard). I’m debating between it and Columbia which has a somewhat softer bed, and wider fit. The Merrell has a little flaw on it but might not be a big issue. Quality is not the same as before. Certainly not comfort and consistency. Why doesn’t the label say leather anymore? My other Merrill’s are very comfortable to walk in. These require different inserts, and at least, and some breaking in? Still an overall nice design. Think I’ll try to find more out about the leather upper that doesn’t say anything anymore.
