Look really nice.

I have not hiked yet in these but they feel really nice on my feet. I think they will be great. One issue I had was the box was not sealed when they arrived and I am not sure they may have been worn before. Bottoms look a little dirty. Tops look like they’ve been broke in a little. I am going to keep cause I need for my trip coming up soon. Not nice to pay for new and get used.

comfort

I have numerous MOAB boots and I find them very durable, and great fit for my foot. I have referred others to Merrell Boots and have not heard any negative remarks. I have use my boots in the snow, and in the desert, great support and grip in all conditions.

Solid, comfortable hiking shoe

Hubs and I tried them out for the first time today. Did an 8 mile hike at California’s Mt. Woodson (aka potato chip rock). We both purchased a similar pair of Merrill’s and remarked how comfortable and sturdy the shoes were while climbing. I was impressed with the ankle support as well. Coming down my feet were getting uncomfortable as my toes were being slammed into the toe box. No fault of the shoes, the decent was steep, but I had to wonder if other hiking shoes do the same thing. I rated it a 4 as I feel these shoes might be more of an entry level hiking shoe. ?? But They get the job done and kept my feet and ankles safe.

Too narrow

Sadly, I wish I could give these a more detailed review. I love the style and color of them, but the second I put them on it was an immediate nope on size and comfort. They are way too narrow and short for my size 9 wide feet and basically crushed them. If it were just a matter of length I would gladly try again with a size up, but I feel like they are all going to be too narrow for me. It's a shame, because I love all my other Merrell shoes, and a lot of their other styles are offered in wide sizing, so why not these? :(
